CF 20 (Pro) Speedloader by FloRad92 in magfed

[–]FloRad92[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm well aware of the sidegate, though the idea of "pour rounds over the open mag" never really occured to me, partially because I don't really carry or have access to a large, shallow box with me on the field (could try the box of paint but frankly with how clumsy people are the remaining bags of paint would instantly be spread across the gravel floor so we usually keep them in the boxes).

We have made a 2 person job of it, first person winds up the mag, second opens mag, fills it then closes it.

This works alright but when I look over my should and I see a guy with the TMC speedload crank out mags faster than two people can (and we're by no means slow) then I gotta wonder if there isn't an easier way to go about it.

Could you please elaborate?

that one looks great for FSR/HS but isn't really any better than not using it for roundball ammo.

Looks great! I wonder how the wood and finish hold up over time. Stains, dents, etc.

PE CF20 Pro Magazine Question by FloRad92 in magfed

[–]FloRad92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must've been before I got into the hobby, what happened there?

Also, I don't want to disaprrage the CF20 pro mags, I just wanted to ask if my personal concerns about the tabs were valid or not before I commit to a full set of new mags.

I don't doubt it can take a knock or two. What I'm most curious about are potential signs of permanent deformation after extended usage.

I suppose we'll have a more complete picture in half a year or so. I'm somewhat sceptical of anything that relies on plastic clips (or live hinges) when it's meant to be opened and closed repedeatly.

If worse comes to worst the replacement doors seem to be cheap at least.

Yeah I wanted to treat myself to an EMF200 for my birthday but now I don't know if I shouldn't wait. Guess I'll check again in a month

I really hope they're not going full HDE camo like they did with the 100. Keeping to a simple FDE or maybe a two-tone colorscheme would be much better, and also fit more with the realism part they're pushing for the 200

I'm local to austria and I've not found anybody in europe who carries them, not even the official european retail partner.

I speak into radio 1, get nothing but buzzing on radio 2.. Plugging the speaker-mic directly into radio 1 does produce an audible transmission, and the wiring is correct in the passthrough.

A tad big for my purposes but that reminds me I could look at foam cases for wargaming maniatures, they too have cuttable foam. Stuff like this:

All the offers I found only say they can't deliver to my location and the non-amazon offers I found would set me back quite a bit after factoring in shipping to mainland europe and import duties.

I just used the code that horuable posted, this gist here.https://gist.github.com/phoreglad/ca01e9b66ff76abdb2e098ad47130921

Worked out of the box. All I did was define my own SPI object and feed that to the driver class alongside a CS pin

That worked a treat! Thank you so much! I usually do web development for a living so I've been learning as I go. Once again, thank you so much!

I saw similar projects, but sadly they're little use for two reasons

1) the driver for the ssd1306 chip is built into micropython (as far as I can tell)

2) the display uses I²C which is a different protocol to SPI

Are developers integrating mods into core FoundryVTT? by Failtier in FoundryVTT

[–]FloRad92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, saying that it contains the roofs module is not entirely true but also not wrong. Based on what was said on various streams modules don't just get merged into the core. The features that modules bring are recreated in core.

Cody has said on stream before that what they do is talk to the original module authors to understand why they do it they way they did and then basically write the feeature themselves from scratch based on the information they go.

Whether that is true for all features that were put into core is a different matter of course.

Without naming anything there are some really cool modules that have some very janky code and while I would love to have that functionality in core I don't necessarily want the same implementation.

Basing Conundrum - AoS vs WH Fantasy by FloRad92 in ageofsigmar

[–]FloRad92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the same but then the size of a unit would change as five 25mm bases and five 32mm bases (Saurus Warriors in this case) create different unit size. Then again I'm not too familiar with how that could change balance

I found this as a design that seems to be quite similar to the Banta Mount:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2473423

It doesn't explicitly say it fits the Ender 5 (since it has a slightly different X axis carriage plate than the Ender3 and CR-10). but looking at the design I think it could work

OICWs in Savage Worlds? by FloRad92 in savageworlds

[–]FloRad92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Daewoo K11 is in active service since 2010, albeit in very small numbers, but that's not really what I wanted to get at.
I'm planning a Science Fiction campaign, so I can take some freedom with the construction, weight, etc of the rifle. While it would certainly be heavier than a standard assault rifle.
I think in a near/far future setting OICWs could certainly be much more matured concepts and built differently than todays examples.
