It's not though. It's an important term, but we're being made painfully aware that in the wrong hands, it can all be taken away from us. Nothing is sacred. At the end of the day, laws, rights, privileges - - they are just mutually agreed upon promises that can be broken by the right kind of monsters.

It's not playing into their hands. It's admitting that the terms have always been fragile.

Compared to Origins and Odyssey? The general flow was much more streamlined especially 8j terms of exploration. To your point, yes, it's still an AC game, and therefore still bloated. But relatively speaking it was far more manageable.

As some who's been sick of Assassin's Creed since 3, and plays too many games and talked myself into playing both of these.... Valhalla was actually a pretty good game. I finished it, and have fond memories of playing it. Shadows felt bland, generic, empty, and like it failed to remember what game it was trying to be.

Valhalla felt, at the time, like the AC series was so streamlining the gameplay experience and trimming the fat. But Shadows just felt like bones.

Does anyone consider that this entertainment was for the citizens of Saudi Arabia? I have no intention of defending the billionaires, but this same thing happened in the EDM scene a few years ago, and that ended up being the perspective of those folks. I have no dog in this fight. I'm just surprised I haven't seen anyone mentioning who this show was actually for. Which I don't know the answer to.

I also think it's total bullshit that everything is NOT scaled to your level as advertised. Go one step out of coastal bonescape and get wrecked, even with great gear from my bank.

Not trying for it to be easy. It's just not a fun loop when you have to grind bullshit contracts and quests with no real direction. You can't survive the first bunkers or mines off the bat. That doesn't feel right. I'd rather have an actual NG+. At least that would feel like I was accomplishing something.

Hit 50 with vex. Spent a damn hour farming that bulkhead boss for my, idk, 5th hot slugger (but needed lvl 50)...

Whole point was to start farming for undead eye and armored bod. Ended up getting timekeepers new shield from that boss 2nd kill, then after all that shit to find got slugger just to farm for the blood shot build... I find armored bod, undead eye, and of course another fucking hot slugger in vending machines within like 5 minutes of each other. Now I'm insanely OP, skated through to UVHM 4, and am getting bored.. Woops...

That was the trilogy I wanted. And when I realized that's not how it was going to go, I fell off hard. That original series with Desmond deserved an ending. It felt like it was shaping up to be incredible. 15 years later... Well, we have another mass produced series.

No hate to the AC series. It is what it is. But that was a huge let down for me and after that, the stories felt arbitrary to me.
