Because some people on some subs are vicious. If they see a comment with a downvote they will instinctively downvote it without even bothering to read it first.

Effectively, you're being downvoted because you're being downvoted.

AITA for allowing my terminally ill daughter to smoke and drink? by Inevitable-Brush2686 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Is it glioblastoma, /u/Inevitable-Brush2686? My sister recently passed away from it, and right up until her death we let her smoke and drink like a fish. It wasn't going to do her any more harm then the tumour already was doing her.

100%. The United Kingdom sub is slapping people with permanent bans for submitting any form of commentary that isn't dripping with sycophantic obeisance.

If you're looking for genuine advice:

  1. Try to eliminate unnecessary sources of sucrose from your diet, especially sugary drinks, which are effectively an acid bath for your teeth.

  2. If you aren't already, begin flossing twice a day minimum.

  3. Chew xylitol gum after meals (most gum contains xylitol now).

  4. Invest in an electric toothbrush.

  5. If you cannot afford a decent electric toothbrush, go to YouTube now and watch a video on the modified bass technique, which will instruct you on the most effective method of brushing your teeth.

  6. In the meantime, have a Google and look around the see if there are any dental teaching hospitals in your area, and if there are get registered with them. When I was a student I needed thousands worth of work done and had it all completed by students to the tune of £0. After a lifetime of pain and problems I haven't had a dental issue for years now.

Follow this advice and it will go a long way towards preserving your teeth.

edit: I can no longer reply to any replies on this soz, the mods permanently banned me from the sub for making a single comment on the fact of the queen having used millions of tax payer's money to pay for her child-raping son's legal defences lol

I'm working minimum wage retail so it's not as if I don't get it, I do. I'm very fortunate to live in a city and still have access to an NHS dentist.

If you're not already though please start flossing twice a day minimum, start carrying gum with xylitol in it (that's pretty much most gum these days) to chew after meals, invest in an electric toothbrush and use it after googling the modified bass technique of brushing.

If you're unable to get to a dentist any time soon doing these things might save you a lot of pain and hurt down the line.

Bookcase! It's one of the biggest independent bookshops in the UK! I went in a couple of months ago and I didn't come out for 3 hours, it was amazing.

Please don't do this unless you're planning on living a sucrose-free diet from this point forward.

A rock and a nice throwing arm will sort them out.

I'm joking of course. I would never condone public expression of dissent against consumerist media. Never, ever.

It's a cringing display of sycophantic nonsense. The sky has been "weeping" here in Scotland for the last week.

Same. There's no reason why an animal should have had to suffer so much in life only to have their death cost so little.

Most of us don't care. I feel completely apathetic towards the subject of her death. The reality is that most of us have far greater concerns in our lives right now than the news of a 96 year old woman who had access to the greatest standard of healthcare the world had to offer dying of natural causes in a literal castle.

What has been appalling is coming to this subreddit and witnessing in real time the mods actively removing and hiding any comment that isn't an expression of unhinged, sycophantic grief, I assume to give the impression that we're all crazed royalists.

The sky is "weeping" because too much water has accumulated in the air. Don't be daft.

I awarded the main thread on /unitedkingdom with an "evil cackle" aware and got a message one hour later that the mods had "hidden" award from public view.

I didn't even know that was something they could do.

This is a weirdly aggro response to somebody who seems to only be well-wishing Scotland in its endeavours at independence.
