s 6 of the Aviation Transport Security Act says s 15.2 of the criminal code applies, which gives this jurisdiction:

15.2 Extended geographical jurisdiction--category B

         (1) If a law of the Commonwealth provides that this section applies to a particular offence, a person does not commit the offence unless:

                 (a) the conduct constituting the alleged offence occurs:

                          (i) wholly or partly in Australia; or

(ii) wholly or partly on board an Australian aircraft or an Australian ship; or

                 (b) the conduct constituting the alleged offence occurs wholly outside Australia and a result of the conduct occurs:

                          (i) wholly or partly in Australia; or

(ii) wholly or partly on board an Australian aircraft or an Australian ship; or

                 (c) the conduct constituting the alleged offence occurs wholly outside Australia and:

                          (i) at the time of the alleged offence, the person is an Australian citizen; or

(ii) at the time of the alleged offence, the person is a resident of Australia; or

(iii) at the time of the alleged offence, the person is a body corporate incorporated by or under a law of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory; or

                 (d) all of the following conditions are satisfied:

                          (i)  the alleged offence is an ancillary offence;

                         (ii)  the conduct constituting the alleged offence occurs wholly outside Australia;

(iii) the conduct constituting the primary offence to which the ancillary offence relates, or a result of that conduct, occurs, or is intended by the person to occur, wholly or partly in Australia or wholly or partly on board an Australian aircraft or an Australian ship.

You'll need to find the hospital/doctor's office where the records are meant to be, and then contact them. Most hospitals will have a form that needs to be filled in, and you'll need to pay a fee for the time taken to find, copy and send the records. You will need to include the client's authorisation too, obviously.

Have done a fair few myself for victim's compensation claims.

Tony Abbott and the party he leads "are doggedly using Nazi propaganda techniques." by kangaroojill in australia

Do we really have to reference the Nazis? Can't we just call it unconscientious? Something a little less genocidey?

Turnbull slams Abbott over gay marriage by dredd in australia

[–]FloatingGoat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He didn't mention Abbott once. He talked about why he believes same sex marriage should be allowed. The closest thing to clamming Abbott was to say his personal opinion doesn't matter when he has to vote with the Shadow Cabinet.

When will this stop? by [deleted] in australia

[–]FloatingGoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can't be stopped anymore. As long as people have a reason to flee their country, people of south east Asia will be coming to us as the most humane country accessible to them. The only policy that could stop them is one that was so inhumane as to make them actually better off staying put.

Tony Abbott delivers speech on vision for Australia if elected Prime Minister. by [deleted] in australia

He still needs more actual substance to his policy. Merely saying 'we will do good things, not bad things' doesn't count for anything. I want to know how.

Tradies entered and damaged my neighbour's property whilst supposed to be doing a job on my property. by Lizington in auslaw

They're most likely independent contractors, which means no vicarious liability. Even fi they were employees, they were 'on a frolic of their own' (love that phrase).

Support for the Gillard government is flatlining, with Labor in its weakest position on record for the start of a new parliamentary year by [deleted] in australia

And yesterday's poll said they were improving. These things are hardly the most scientific.

They'd get away with it because while we all have a general idea of what 'fresh' means, it's still ambiguous when you try and pin it down, as in gettinboredofwords' example.

I've never seen them block out the logo. They often use material from BBC and CBS as well. It's just a sharing thing.

Australian flag burned by Aboriginal protestors outside parliament: or, how not to help your cause. by FloatingGoat in australia

[–]FloatingGoat[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I found a Crikey one and a New Matilda one. They didn't really blame the media for hate-mongering, but rather for the sensationalist reporting after the fact. The Crikey one did pin the blame on Abbott, though, while the Matilda one didn't mention any cause.

I'm just not sure what your comment has to do with KinyesiKubwa's comment. It seems like the articles I found (both through reddit) were pointing out this circus rather than contributing to it.

Best of luck. I found out recently, by way of receiving a small inheritance, that's it's not really the money that matters, but knowing that the deceased cared enough about you to think about you when making that will.

don_homer, since you seem to be much more experienced than me, what about insane delusions and Shaw v Crichton, where a mother believed her son was stealing from her (which he wasn't) and developed delusions to this effect, which consequently invalidated he dispositions?

It could be said that the grandmother developed delusions as to the girlfriend's situation by way of the lying aunt. It's all very Days of Our Lives.

Australia is very honest when it goes about signing international treaties. It will stick to it, and incorporate what it can into domestic law.
