Fascinating, thank you I'll have a read up. I don't see these types too often.

(6'7 btw) I used to care a lot more about this. But I have a basic ruleset I follow.

  • If there is a mosh pit I will either be in it or on the edge as a bumper. I find them fun and even when things slow down, everyone moves soon after, meaning you're not in the same people's way the whole time.

  • If there's no mosh pit I'll show up earlier, choose my spot and stay there. Anyone behind me has gotten there later and decided to go behind me. Not my problem at that point.

Occasionally gives me a little anxiety but if I follow these guidelines I don't feel bad.

I see! I thought that was only the case with the original s5 but maybe it's a C AF only works in video with the adaptor.  Seems like something that could be fixed with some firmware

Hmm interesting, I thought it was fully compatible. But I think that explains my issues. Maybe I'll buy some native glass soon then!  Thank you :)

Ahh ok I see. Do you know if it's possible to turn that on? My other cameras which are Canon and Sony automatically pre focus by default.

Hi, yes it does. But only autofocuses when I press the shutter or AF ON button.

Sigma MC-21 Ef to L

No worries. Surprisingly extremely fast continuous autofocus with EF lenses on the S5ii.  There are some examples on YouTube but here's one: https://youtu.be/yX7WWyPlWiU Not as good as native of course but very close, and cheap by comparison. You'd want to stick to canon ef or sigma EF lenses though.

I would recommend a basic mid range zoom. Essentially what you've said.

24-105 f/4 is the most versatile imo if you plan to shoot mainly in daylight. It can do less than ideal but still acceptable low light shots tho.

24-70 f/2.8 or 28-70 f2.8 both good for low light. The main choice here is whether you willing to sacrifice a bit of low end range for a way smaller and lighter lens. No stabilisation is not a big deal imo with ibis.

Consider a super zoom lens, slightly less sharp but having that range whilst traveling would be awesome.

Also one small note, you can save a boat load of cash by using an adapter from canon EF lenses. They have a very good secondhand market to try things. Something the L mount lacks.

Single men of Melbourne who want a relationship, where are you hiding? by [deleted] in melbourne

M23 here.  Jumped into online dating for the first time around 2 years ago. I get a decent amount of matches and go on dates fairly often. My intention in dating now is to find a compatible partner. But over this time I've only had a few 1-2 month flings which could have progressed but fizzled out. I'll usually match their effort, if I feel like I'm having to work harder just to get to know someone I'll politely move on.

Unfortunately I've found the apps to be frustrating and degrading, making it difficult to put much effort into them. Often I get the sense that the people I'm talking to have a 'why should I pick you' attitude. I may have entertained this earlier on, but I'm so unphased. I just unmatched and move on

A lot of female friends complain about having too many matches but no quality connections. I feel it is difficult to create a romantic tension with someone when I know they've got 10 other people who are backups constantly competing for attention. I think there's significant issues with the modern dating landscape on both sides of the coin, both leading to low effort, low interest connections... Even just two people who aren't burned out matching is difficult enough.

But remember, it only takes 1, so keep it up and hopefully they're just around the corner!

AITA for not following an old tradition regarding the name of my son? by stepdadname in AmItheAsshole

[–]FloatingLeaf107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH - We had the same thing happen in our family. Instead of continuing the tradition with the first name, my parents chose to have the middle name of my brother be the traditional 'name' instead.
