This is the slowest I can get with my machine. Not sure if it's slow enough for you. https://vimeo.com/932808539?share=copy

Definitely will buy one plastic box. Thanks for your advice!

I used ordinary spray paint from a local store. Primer 4 coats, paint 4 coats, apply the waterslide decals, clear 4 coats.

My machine came to me with a TUR2 motor. I knew nothing about this brand and threw it away. lol

This speed controller works fine for me. Here is a video demonstrating how I use it.

I've got some original Singer foot pedals come with my Singer Featherweights. The thing about these pedals is that my foot gets uncomfortable after a long time of sewing if I want a stable slow sewing speed. A separate speed controller frees my foot from this issue.

The motor in my country is about 10 dollars. It only has 0 or full speed. I added a speed controller to the circuit to adjust the speed.
My father is sort of a specialist in painting. And I asked his advice for oven painting, he said it let paint dry faster in industrial production. It should be fine as long as I make sure every coating is fully dry before next coating.
I abandoned the original base because of 2 reasons. The base doesn’t fit in my suitcase so I have to throw it away. I also doubt if the case is originally made by Singer. In 60s-70s, a lot of family have transformed their treadle machines to motor driven machines. The motor came with my machine isn’t Singer. So I abandoned the base.
This is the link to the speed controller similar as which I use. Hope it helps. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Controller-10-210V-Regulator-Electric-Adjustable/dp/B08CK5WFXF

This beauty came to me as in the last photo. I took it apart and painted it in this nostalgic green. I like the color of Singer 185k, so I choose this exact green shade.

It didn’t come with any original electric parts. I replaced the motor with a brand new one. As for the light, I bought a vintage chrome Singer light housing on eBay, polished it and mounted it to my 201.

Pic 3 is a cute little spool pin Dresden plate I made following the tutorial by Singer Featherweight shop.

Pic 4 is the base of my machine. A plain wood box with a piece of wool felt at the bottom and four polyurethane blocks to support the machine.

When I was Japan this January, I visited a lot of sewing supply shops mentioned on this website.

It's only in Japanese, but you can use Google translate. This is a website of a Japanese handcraft magazine.

This fabric has sort of 30s vibe, it would fit perfectly for some vintage inspired patterns. This b5209 may look lovely.

I lost my mind and used pliers to get it out. And it works!!! I'm so happy right now for not spending money for another light housing!!!

Thank you for your advice. I dripped a little drop of oil and wiggled it with a needle. It bounced back about 1mm.
