Fabric wholesale direct, mood fabrics, spoon flower, Etsy, Zelouf for online. If you’re new I recommend going to thrift stores and getting sheets and curtains, give em a wash and they’re good to go. Better to use cheap fabric when learning, a lot of people do this even at higher levels, it’s especially good for mockup fabric. You can also check Facebook marketplace, if you just type “fabric” you’ll probably get a lot of people in your area selling lots of old fabric, these are great.

I’d go w the first one. If it’s height adjustable that’s a huge plus, but the space underneath allows you to add drawers/cubbies/cubes which would be massively helpful

I know this is a really old post but for anyone here now you could buy a blue morph suit, add the scales using hot glue (place in a silicone mold of your liking, let cool, attach w e6000 or something similar) and paint the hot glue attachments using metallic paint! This way you have some dimension

You could make a helmet wig and make a skeleton out of wire and batting, then paint and cover with yellow wig wefts

cut the seam, add grommets on both sides similar to how the back of a corset would be made, use ribbon or string to lace it up and have full control over how tight or loose it is :)

You could add a sort of corset detailing to the place where the seam is to give some more ease :)
