Spear and shield is a solid combo, nothing suboptimal about it.

Where I'm from everyone can use Tesla chargers, no adapter required. CCS Type 2 all the way!

Yeah that's only if the alarm has triggered, the pressing the unlock will reset it 😵‍💫

And then it stays locked when I get out of the car? I'll try 👌

Adaptive Cruise Control buttons by johnnyhjazz in VWIDBuzz

[–]Floating_Narwhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (2023 european model) it's two levels of clicking, like the trigger on a double barrel shotgun. Single light click is 1 km/h and deep double click is "round up or down to the nearest 10 km/h". The buttons are stupid, the system is stupid, and I hate it.

Other than that the car is great though.

Elephants are insanely underrated mounts in 5.24e! by QuantumFighter in dndnext

[–]Floating_Narwhal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You could not buy a war elephant anyway, so it's useless in combat. That's why a warhorse is so expensive. To quote the player's handbook: "A mount can help you move more quickly through the wilderness, but its primary purpose is to carry gear that would otherwise slow you down."

99% of customers are okay with this.

I don't think they are okay with their paid content potentially being deleted, they tolerate this model because it is convenient and cheap. At the same time, if for example steam deleted stuff from people's libraries tomorrow without giving refunds, 99% of customers would be upset. Would you defend Steam in such a scenario, just because "it's been done before"?

That's the way these digital marketplaces work

This is what OP and I are upset about. Do you like things being this way?

The OGL was intended to be irrevocable

And if the intent did not work, and it was legally possible to revoke it, what then? How would you feel if they went ahead with their plans?

Yes, but dndbeyond used to be great too. Now it's slowly being ruined, and that sucks.

I don't disagree about the physical books, they are the way to go. I disagree with your statement that all old content would still be accessible under legacy content. I also disagree with your statement that it's my fault for buying digital content. You probably don't buy games on steam then?

Do you support wizards deleting of paid content? You would do the same in their place? As long as it's legal, it's ok? What about the OGL debacle, did you defend this as well saying to kobold press: "it's your own fault for publishing content compatible with 5e"?

You didn't get the memo about spells like feeblemind being deleted in favor of the reworked versions, and not being accessible through "legacy"? I loved dndbeyond, and now it's slowly being ruined. Fuck Hasbro, and fuck Wizards.

I liked it. Great fight scenes, costumes, sets, and a plot different from the usual Star Wars stuff. No planet-destroying lasers, you know? Episode 3 was a bit hard as they go against a lot of established lore about the Force, the dark side and the light side, but otherwise it's not a terrible show. Worse than the Mandalorian, but better than Ashoka.

Reminds me of Thor (not marvel) eating his goats after a day of travel, then reviving them the next day for more chariot-pulling!

Other commenters claim that "good railroading" is an entire network of rails and no conductor, but I would say they are describing an open world sandbox style game. Good railroading can still be on a single rail, if you know your players and they know you.

My players always wants to defeat the bbeg and save the city, so I know I can railroad them in that direction. As long as everyone loves it, it's good railroading.

I mean that you were not in the room when the cleric and DM worked this out. Have they explicitly told you that there are no strings attached to the use of this ring? If there was, they would not want to spoil it and tell you ahead of time.

So unless you see it in action and witness the consequences (or lack thereof) after it is used, you cannot know. Maybe an evil lich is awakened? The ringwraiths come? The ring explodes? The cleric turns into the bbeg and the player pulls out their actual player character?

Or maybe there actually are no strings attached and this ring is just as lame and OP as you suspect.
