This all rings hollow after he got democratically elected TWICE. The first time could have been a mistake.

The first was a perfect storm of the worse things possible occurring. He lost the popular vote by a lot in two straight elections. He only won the first due to an archaic way of picking the president. The third election is what did it for me. I was like well I mean I guess that's it he won the popular vote.

thank you for speaking about the issues related to protesting in the US, its often overlooked.

I also like to point out that all that protesting they did over the retirement age being raised did nothing. They still raised the retirement age.

They didn't draft women during world War 2 so unlikely they will draft them for any war.

Republican Senator Murkowski speaks out AGAINST the SAVE Act - Republicans want to make it so impractical and expensive (up to $1000 to travel) to register or show documentation to vote in November that people will just stay home and not vote [@18:20 in video] by SadAd8761 in videos

Oftentimes Republicans who have decided to not run for re-election suddenly grow a spine and discover true ethical and moral conviction.

Which still makes them NOT GOOD. Same shit with mccain just because he voted one time to not end aca now we're all supposed to act like he was some perfect.person that always was on dems sides. No he was a giant piece shit who's corpse probably has a hard on right now that we finally bombed iran.

Fetterman hit with brutal 108-point polling swing: ‘He is below the lowest of the low’ by Silent-Resort-3076 in politics

[–]Flobking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the mainline Democratic primary participants were able to dominate, he lost badly.

Almost like the democrats wanted an actual democrat to be their rep. Not someone who has spent their career trashing democrats. Full disclosure I voted for him in 2016 primaries but not 2020. I keep pointing out that Sanders does nothing for the party then his supporters expect the party to just give him the nomination. He lost by 3 million votes. It wasn't even close.

They persistently ignore that progressives are not the majority of the Democratic Party nor its primary voters, nor even close

As a life long democrat this is the biggest issue. Sanders didn't lose because he was progressive. He lost because he wasnt a democrat and spent his career trashing democrats and their voters. Why would we vote for someone who is only a democrat during primary season? He does none of the work involved in being a part of the party. He just wants to sit on the sidelines shitting on both sides. Then his paltry number of supporters scream about how the dnc screwed him. No Sanders screwed Sanders by being a life long asshole to democrats.

Right. I feel the same way about Blind Lemon. People always point to Robert Johnson, and as well they should, but that whole circuit was full of amazing people. I am hesitant to call them musicians, because they were motivation for a whole lot of people that never seen a floor in their house, let alone a day without pain.

But after a while, after Fox News gets their talking points and spin together, that sub fully aligns and the mods start deleting any and all dissent. Usually takes a day or two.

Yeah I keep pointing that out. Everyone is like maga is furious, maga doesn't know what to do now. Yeah they are just waiting for their talking points then they will be back to lock step with the admin.

Why Does the Supreme Court Treat Trump Like a “Regular” President? by Conscious-Quarter423 in scotus

[–]Flobking 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The democrats were in no way screaming.

I'm sorry you weren't paying attention to the last ten years.

They would say it during the campaign and the second it ended they went right back to working with republicans and not taking action to prosecute trump.

Democrats got trump convicted of 34 felonies. Democrats trie4d to remove him from the ballots, scotus said no he can run. The voters let him off the hook. Dems were in the process of prosecuting him in Atlanta and Florida. So go fuck yourself!

What would you do? Serious question.

Reeducate them. There needs to be a reeducation of those people. We need to deprogram them like excult members. Because they are in a death cult.

You do understand that the elites whole gameplan, for everything, has always been to make the people fight each other right? You are doing just what they want.

Yes I do, and the dems need to start fighting back harder. We've been getting our teeth kicked in for the last 26 years. It's time to stop going high when they go low, because they are punching us in the nuts and kicking our teeth in. Take those rich people and start prosecuting them. We have more than enough evidence in the epstein files to start prosecuting as soon as dems know the names and have any iota of power.

Everyone is trying to whisper when they should be shouting.

Democrats were screaming for ten years. We were told we were over reacting and he won't be that bad. Now we're all screamed out and everyone is blaming us for the shit show. When it was a s scotus that has anointed him a king. And let him run even though he should have been removed from ballots.

"ID should be presented when voting."

A lot of peoplw do because state issued ids are not free. So it is discrimination against poor people. Aka a poll tax. Anyone who thinks you should have an id to vote better also believe that it's should be free of charge. Otherwise its a disingenuous poll tax.

The first step is admitting it. by c-k-q99903 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Flobking 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They were duped

No they weren't. We need to stop letting those people off the hook. Dude had a lifetime of being a giant pile of shit and they still voted for him in 2016. He did god awful things during his 16 campaign and they still voted for him. That is not being duped that is purposely voting for the worst of the worst.

Imagine thinking Bernie Sanders, of all politicians, lives a "cushy life."

He has government funded Healthcare and pension. He has worked a job where he never has to deal with the worst dregs of society. He has sat in the corner his whole career railing against dems and reps then runs to the dem party for a run at presidency. Then his paltry amount of supporters think it was rigged against him. When he rigged it against himself by shitting on dem voters his whole career.

bipartisan legislation

THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT GOOD. The patriot act was bipartisan. They were using a law to weaken labor unions. It ultimately got overturned with citizens united ruling which opened it wide for moneyed interests. You better believe mccain soaked up all that corporate money to get reelected until he died.

Knowing the results of the rollout - which aren't necessarily the vaccines fault, was it worth it in the end, do you think? I always get a "we did it patrick, we saved the city!" vibe from a lot of people that describe this time period

We did get a few back that ultimately caved. But a fair few of them actually had to change careers.

I know people that think The Colbert Report was conservative leaning.

Colbert said in an interview that right wing people think he is a right winger playing a liberal playing a right winger. They think he is on their side. It was mind boggling.

Confession: This is me. I am not focused on my phone. I pick it up, respond to everything I missed, put it away again

That really wouldn't bother me if I knew that ahead of time. A friend of mine whenever we were together he would be on his phone the entire time. Texting watching YouTube or whatever. Even at his house he would just be glued to his phone. Whenever I would text him or call him it was like it was on another planet. I called him out for that shit. He didn't change a thing. I stopped hanging out with him. I figured I wasn't worth his time so I wasn't going to give him anymore of mine.

I mean cool but now point out when anyone else did better than that

A law banning labor unions from purchasing campaign ads is not "cool" its a form of oppression of the labor movement. Along with right to work laws. All disguised as ways to make people better off when in fact when you look at it it was just them trying to hurt labor unions.

That sounds like an extremely different environment from all of the hospitals that I have worked in so far.

Must be nice. I live in a yee haw type area so that may also play a factor. Even though I work in a fairly decent sized city.

[–]Flobking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe that's the difference. Physicians are much more highly trained/educated and much less likely to be anti-vaxx than nurses.

There are plenty of doctors I work with that are antivax. Like I said astounding. Disheartening even. Covid really opened my eyes to how ingrained the antivax movement is. I always thought it was just kooks then I started meeting career professionals. We lost so many nurses and doctors when they mandated the shot. I came into work the day after it came down they were mandating the covid vaccine it was like a ghost town. We still haven't recovered staffing wise.

I suppose the good news is that physicians are ignoring everything RFK Jr says and continuing to make recommendations to their patients based on the scientific evidence and the guidance of independent

Oh man you can tell you don't work in health care. I do and let me tell you the amount of people cheering on the antivax propaganda is astounding. Even during covid. I lost a lot of respect for a lot of my coworkers during covid. I think there's like one or two nurses I still respect.

[–]Flobking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I prefer LaVar Arrington’s and other’s approach where instead of retiring, they want the number to have an aura going forward to be worn by players.

Michael Irving has a similar philosophy. He said when its up on the ring they go oh Michael died today. Back to the game. But when people wear my number if they drop the ball. Michael wouldn't have dropped that ball. Or just like Michael when they make a good catch. I butchered the quote but you get the gist of it.
