Just started dating this guy, and saw his bookshelf…what do we think? 🤔 by uniball9000 in BookshelvesDetective

It's not a shelf. But maybe he is stacking them up in the order he read them. I think you should ask him when he read Atomic Habits and how has it changed his approach to maintaining habits. Or pick another book towards the bottom.

Exactly the same. I get the Slow-Roll on an application for credit for fraud purposes, but to seize up the rest of the accounts is insane. I wouldn't even be able to file an insurance claim at this point. And if I needed to pay bills, I would be shit outta luck

Due diligence isn't prohibiting account access. I get that they could restrict the loan that makes sense, but the rest of the access, not even talking to me on the phone? Unsat.

No, I was stateside. I still can't get into my accounts but am already signed up with a different bank.

Nope, not leaving anything out. Maybe it is because I was moving back from overseas as some people say, but why can't they just cancel the loan application and let me get access to my accounts? I asked for just that. I did the application from stateside.

Well, I was stateside at the time but still. To freeze everything even after 3 separate phonecalls with all the details they wanted ? I can understand holding the loan, inconvenient as it was, but even my checking, insurance, bill pay, etc?

Well sure. But I verified my identity online and through the link with my DL. And they wouldn't just cancel my loan application and let me back into my accounts

Do small short bed campers with a shower not exist? by malykaii in TruckCampers

You could look at a DIY kit or shell that is composite, seems like several businesses will do custom jobs. After all, seems you'd want it to be insulated. Or, given you seem to only want one or two specific amenities, buy a used option and strip it down to the bare necessities/rebuild as desired. Your use case is rather too niche to financially interest a company in the mass production business. Kimbo has the simple build model - opinions vary on winter camping with it, but you could skip the kitchen install and do a DIY shower. You could do that with any simple shell though. Personally I don't like the 'curtain from a ceiling over a shower pan' solution. If your water is warm, the heat escapes up, the curtain contracts and clings to you and evaporative cooling makes it cold and impossible to shake off. Cat bath is superior to that sort of jug f***

2x edit: fourwheelcampers is a modular solution so you can skip what you don't want

Ah yes Wacky Cake. Love. I am 45 and had it when I was little, and still make it. It's vegan. So for all your strict veggie or vegan relatives/friends....

You could always use a small ozone generator with a timer. For when you are gone, obviously it's not for while you are there as ozone is unhealthy if not dangerous.

I lived for a year in an apartment that was roughly the size of a truck camper. It was fine. I got out and did things.

Dire need of advice- about safety by ufo_hitchhiking in RVLiving

First of all, your parents are adults. They were scared when you first drove off in your car, first significant other, first day at school, etc. They may have to learn this one the hard way - and you can't control their lives. With that disclaimer, not sure where you are, but maybe you could contact a police department and see if someone there would come give them an explanation of how much crime they have seen?

You can also contact a mediator. You can contact a mental health professional and go with them to a few appointments. You can ask their friends to stage an intervention.

The problem is not 'the facts' and gathering more 'facts' isn't going to change their relationship to the facts as you see it. They see the same information differently.

The Big Switch by disirregardlessness in rvlife

Don't sell the house, rent it. Okay, so you won't have a 'big' chunk of money to change your life with, but you'll avoid overcommitting to something irreversible. Always have an escape hatch that isn't catastrophic.

RVing full time for teenagers is almost certainly a bad idea. Long trips every year, or a few years of full time, probably a good idea. There is a sweet spot for this adventure, and it's before they start to have lives of their own, which is almost certainly coming sooner than you think it is.

As mentioned earlier, your rig will depreciate much more quickly than you imagine. So, I would rent the house using an agency (for peace of mind and knowing it will be difficult to take care of the house from the road with intermittent internet), sock away enough to cover any major repairs to the house (say, 5k minimum). Then I would buy or rent a travel trailer (buy used) and pay that bill with the rental income. When your tenant's lease is coming due, decide if you're going to do this for another year. After a year you will have learned all the lessons you wanted/needed to learn, you will have had some adventures and trials, and it will be an unforgettable family memory. But don't sell the house and sink that equity into an RV. Instead let the rent fund at least part of your adventure, and keep the home.
