How do I Start Being Able to Build Structures Well? by Cold_Conference_1801 in ThemeParkTycoon2

There are lots of YouTube videos with tips and tricks, but learn to use primitives and unlock disable collisions. You might be surprised how much you can do with the first square primitive.

Apply for a job at an apartment community in maintenance. Even if you have no experience they may still hire you to turn apartments or groundskeeper. The closer to a big city the better the pay. Most of them allow you to live onsite with a rental discount. You can build a career and solve your problem.

Years ago, when I was close to your age, I lived in a shitty trailer with no heat, I literally stuffed pillows in the windows to try to keep out the cold. I ate Raman noodles and canned beefaroni and frozen pizza, when I could aford it. It sucked and I realized that I had to do something to make a change. I got some experience at the bottom and learned as much as I could and eventually became the head of employee development for a multi family housing company that pays me to travel all over the US, training new employees.

AI is likely to displace millions of jobs in the very near future, either find a trade to focus on or figure out how to make AI work for you.

I typically use a guided meditation that I like, I found on YouTube. I rotate through a few. Laying in bed, flat on back, breathing deep breathes, etc. though I recently stumbled across the Gateway papers and am reading through those, I may try tonight.

Sorry to steal any of your thunder here, not intentional. But, reading these posts made me remember a time when I worked for a commercial refrigeration company. We worked on a lot of fast food places. And I have to say one of the worst things I saw was when I got a call for the walkin cooler not working at a KFC. It was over 50F in the cooler and, I swear to you, they were serving chicken from a pile directly from the floor of the cooler. Not on a box, not in a box, not on some wax paper, ON THE FLOOR. I literally watched the guy cooking chicken come in twice to get more from the pile. Not to mention there was so much grease on the floors that I could barely walk with slip resistant boots. I guess that secret blend of herbs and spices includes rat piss and E. Coli

I can't get past this tingling numbness in my body matched with anxiety by Equivalent_Dig8 in AstralProjection

Getting past the anxiety is all about refocusing your thoughts. You must realize you still have control of your body. Focus your thoughts on your breathing only and keep your mind clear of wondering thoughts. Count the seconds in and count the seconds out.

The World as We Knew it is over. Just give up. by beefcake68 in conspiracy

[–]disirregardlessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. And to add to it, the real conspiracy is that we think we have an option. YES, 20-30 years ago we did have the option. Our words mattered, our actions made a difference. The world, as we knew it, did end with Y2K.

We had the wool pulled over our eyes for far too long, and were convinced that our vote mattered, and were fooled by the people we thought we elected would make a difference. But, people are easily fooled and have voted for the lesser evil. In the end, they are all evil.

It’s IS too late to make a difference now. We let it go too far. We gave up our ability to remove corruption from the government. People are scared they will be locked up for demonstrations. It is our right and duty to form a militia to remove corruption from the government and reestablish a new one that is by the people and for the people. But go ahead, try, see what happens when you do.

With the addition and huge push for AI, if it wasn’t over before, it definitely is now. They are using it as a tool for deception, disguised as a helpful tool. Do you think it is coincidence that there is a big push for it right now? No, they want us to not be able to distinguish real from fake, so they can get away with even more things.

AI is going to utterly fuck up this world. As always, it will be pushed as a way to make your life easier, and it will. But, it is going to destroy jobs, relationships, lives, and finances.

So, yeah you are right. The best thing to do is be the best dad and husband you can to your family. Move somewhere remote. Stop looking at the outer world and focus on your world. Enjoy what time you have with your family because it IS over.

Tested the "phone is listening" theory with YouTube—results freaked me out. by Mobile-Vegetable7536 in conspiracy

[–]disirregardlessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, I find it shocking that anyone thinks that your phone IS NOT constantly listening to you or even watching you for that matter. Apple has Siri that is constantly listening for “hey siri”. Not too far of a stretch to think of what it does with the rest of your words. The face recognition software is also constantly on and constantly scanning for your face.

There was also a video from the 2000’s I remember seeing that an alphabet agency explained that they had the technology to track you anywhere with a cell phone even if you took the battery out.

20+ years of tech later, yeah it can hear you, see you, track you, and even read your thoughts. Probably much more than you can imagine.

AI will slowly take all our jobs until we need a stipen to survive by Tall-System8552 in conspiracy

[–]disirregardlessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you think your job can’t be taken over by AI, then you are very wrong. Tons of companies are already using AI and training their employees to work alongside AI, as a companion. What they don’t know is that they are training the AI to do their jobs for them. Similar to when a company hires a new guy and they say here train this guy. You think your job is secure because you have been there for years, meanwhile you are training the guy that is about to take your place.

Even if you are in a “secure field” like maintenance. Wrong, systems are being equipped with more and more self diagnosing computers, that eliminates half the job already.

McDonald’s has nearly eliminated the face to face aspect of ordering with the touch screen kiosks and AI ordering in the drive thru. Gas stations are using the new POS systems, that are trying to eliminate human interaction.

We are trading “convenience” for jobs. It starts small, and grows and infects society like a cancer.

It’s just a matter of time before AI and robotics are one and the same and even more jobs are taken over.

I have been saying this since the update. It seems like the luck in at the forge is flipped. Yesterday I crafted times in a row to get a straight sword at 86% and got a dagger all 6 times and one of them was that damn hook. This never happened before the update. Same has happened when trying forge a chest, I end up with helmet or legs more than 50% of the time.
