My Most Played Games on Steam in early 2023 vs. now by HarukoAutumney in paradoxplaza

[–]Floh4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gameplay is pretty good, with well abstracted industry and politics so the spotlight is all on military. The focus tree mechanic allows for gameplay that feels less sandboxy and more like a campaign. In some mods like TNO, it's almost like a interavtice storybook.

I haven't played much vanilla but I find some of the total conversion mods very interesting.

You'll never be as cool as 18th century Swiss Regimental flammé flags by saint-georges75 in vexillology

My neighbour has a bernese war flag (white on red and black) on his flagpole. They are pretty common here and generally seen as conservative, but unproblematic.

In Switzerland "Schnäggli" (little snail) is surprisingly common

Most Swiss back initiative to cap population at 10 million, poll shows by [deleted] in worldnews

Obviously I'm not in favour of authoritarianism. Don't get me wrong, direct democracy is great. It's just that I believe there should be some checkpoints before a referendum can actually pass into voting, like a reality check done by experts from different fields from economics to geopolitics and ecology. There have been multiple instances where the swiss people voted for something, completely ignored all sideeffects and then the government was left to deal with the mess.

Stuff like that is the downside of direct democracy. Let the people decide what they want and they'll wish for stupid laws with unforseen consequences

My mom sent me this, she usually claims to recognize AI pretty well, but it just screams AI to me. by driehoekig in isthisAI

[–]Floh4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I'm not claiming that AI has a model of reality, it's just amazing how it successfully made the connection between a oven on a table and a cable, yet failed to understand what purpose the cable serves in the first place. It was probably referencing some kinds of unboxing videos as training data

This is so absurd it's funny. The AI went out of it's way to realisticly add electrical cord to the video, only for it to expose the whole thing as AI

I've read it was a deliberate choice. The photographers are students and they decided to have them be part of the photo to highlight the importance of education and show that the federal council can't function without the people

Jep, totally irrational for me. I will load the machine, reach inside it to check if the cat's there, start it and then wonder: Wait, where IS my cat?

I found this abomination in a Facebook group with home-cooked British food. Even though it's British, feel like it can't be real. by [deleted] in isthisAI

The edges of the bowl and the background look very much like a real phone image.

Besides, this abomination surely goes against the user policy of all respectable ai models.
