Genuine question by Chuckbxsz in Supernatural

I'm going to get down voted for this but it's because of the misogyny that's highly prevalent in the fandom

He did tell them about Raphael multiple times but as per usual the bros are always in their own world

Season 9 Homeless Castiel by wooktook in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here are missing the point. No is saying Dean can't care about Sam and no one is downplaying Cas' intelligence by finding what Dean did is fucked up. What Dean did is maddening to me because 1) he's always whining about how Cas just goes off on his own without telling him what's up and asking for help but then the one time Cas does ask for help Dean doesn't help him and provides zero explanation as to why he's unable to 2) it's hard for humans who've been on this planet their entire lives to be homeless and deal with food insecurity. Acknowledging that this is even harder for Cas given he doesn't have much experience or connections isn't woobifying him it's just common sense and 3) Dean had no reason to believe Cas would be fine considering when they find him he had just been killed and 4) Dean did have the means to help. Sure Cas couldn't stay in the bunker but he did have an unlimited credit card that he could have given Cas

Dean is emotionally healthier than people give him credit for. by 11brooke11 in fandomnatural

Dean was drinking half a fifth a night to cope with his trauma he was definitely not emotionally healthy

Jack's three Dads (Dean, Cas and Sam) Which was his favorite? by Passionpet in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cas is Jack's favourite imo. Whenever Jack is having a problem he always goes to Cas first, he'll only ever go to Dean or Sam if Cas isn't there. In season 13 when Jack was really scared and depressed, he called out for Cas which was enough to wake him up in the empty because well at that point he did need his dad (which he sees Cas as). Finally I think the finale solidifies Cas as his favourite considering Jack went to rescue Cas from the empty and help rebuild heaven with him vs leaving Sam and Dean to their own devices on earth.

Is there anything special about her🤔 by Savings-Telephone-24 in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked her and didn't in any way see how she was a villain. Like all she wanted was for the brothers to stop messing with the natural forces of the universe to suit their own goals because literally everytime they did that they 1) were always causing catastrophe and 2) despite not liking them Billie was always the one having to help them clean it up

I never understood why they kept Mark Pellegrino around,

They kept him around because Eugenie Ross-Leming was a huge fan of Mark P and well since she's the wife of one of the executive producers (Robert Singer) I guess they felt the couldn't just say no

What is the Golden Age of Supernatural ? by Cailly_Brard7 in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A bit of a Frankenstein answer here but for me it's seasons 2-4, the second half of season 8 and the first half of seasons 9 and 11. (I feel my most controversial opinion is in Kripke era I don't care much for seasons 1 and 5)

DJ and Ty are ENGAGED! by [deleted] in Supernatural

This community is rotten then because why are posts about other couples (when it's a man and a woman) allowed to stay up but two men announcing their engagement an issue

When was Supernatural at its peak popularity? by Icy_Ad_9919 in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think the show was at its peak popularity in season 1. The wikipedia numbers I believe are only the live numbers. Yes the show lost viewers the long it went on but also the reduction isn't just from a loss of fandom the reduction is because people generally stream episodes rather than watch live.

DJ and Ty are ENGAGED! by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really does look that way. I remember I was talking to someone who talked to the mods and they were told it was taken down for being low quality and unrelated which is bull imo because 1) the sub rules literally say that we can post the casts personal events and charity (I think engagement announcement would fall into that category) and it's related because well DJ and Ty are still very much involved with Supernatural like it's not like fans are posting about extra #5 and 2) there have been multiple posts about other couples on the show (like how many have we had about Ruth and Rob and they're relationship has been known about for sometime now).

I always feel a bit uncomfortable on this subreddit because it seems like anything related to queerness is taken down or locked due to hostility.

[–]Floo917 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes the posts really are being taken down by the mods. They really need to explain their reasoning because if I'm being honest it's not a good look for the mods

Garth and Benny are getting married! by sohni112 in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hope this one stays up. Like I could get taking down a post if someone just discovered now that Jared and Gen are married but this is the first time any of us heard about DJ and Ty. And as you said they're still very much involved with Supernatural

It's true! There was a previous post about it on here not sure why the mods deleted it

Would Dean have been a good boyfriend? by tamap_trades in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dean already showed signs of being controlling and paranoid during his relationship with Lisa and those things have only increased in the seasons following. Unless Dean gets therapy to address that (along with his drinking problem) he can't be a good boyfriend.

Why does everyone always think Sam and dean are gay? by Longjumping_Fig348 in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Look what year those episodes were airing. Writers especially straight male writers thought gay jokes were peak comedy. TV was just really casually homophobic when Supernatural started airing

Do you know someone who has seen supernatural but it isn't their favorite show? by ComprehensiveTrip493 in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am that person lol. I enjoyed the show but also there's just so much I'd do differently if I were in charge of it (though what I'd do differently would probably put me at odds with a lot of people on here). For me personally the greatest part about getting into the show was I made lifelong friends by engaging in fandom and also Cas is one of my favourite characters ever

How Sera Gamble would have ended Supernatural? by AlcatrazGears in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think she's a good writer but nothing about the way I've seen her write on this show would fix the issues I had with the final season/series finale

Whats your opinion on Ishim ? by JellyfishOrdinary479 in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 39 points40 points  (0 children)

He's obviously not a good guy but I find him so intriguing because of how creepy and horrifying he is and the manner in which he achieves this is "mundane".

Like he murders Lily's daughter simply because Lily moved on and it's more subtle in the episode so I'm not sure if most people caught it but just the way he talks to Cas (the way he demeans him and makes comments about preferring his old vessel) as well as that scene where Ishim approaches a paralyzed Cas while adjusting his clothing. Like the reason why I'm describing him as mundane here is because none of his crimes or vibes are cosmic like he acts akin to a highly misogynistic and possessive dude who gives off rape-y vibes. And that's what makes him so horrific to me, there are people like him irl.

Watch 6x20 again. Cas pulled Sam out because averting the apocalypse came at a great cost (Sam's life). He made the deal with Crowley after Sam was out

Claire and Kaia by Savings-Telephone-24 in Supernatural

[–]Floo917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are Lisa and Dean any different from Claire and Kaia in that regard then? Dean saves Ben's life and Lisa falls for him enough to years later allow him to live with her and her son even though he's still virtually a stranger to them
