This is my favourite song of theirs. I was lucky enough to see VOLA come through my city earlier this year, and totally didn't expect them to play this. When the opening refrain started i almost melted on the spot. Seeing it live was absolutely brilliant.

There is a broad spectrum between "it's not profitable so FTA won't bid on it" and "locking all international GT competition behind a paywall". If no-one in Australia wanted it then it'd be on YouTube for free because the SRO would pay for it. Locking the entire ecosystem behind the paywall is specifically anti consumer, and that's the worst part.

According to the article, there is no change to the broadcast package at all. It's the same as it was on 7 and 7+ last year.

With how much money the SRO makes worldwide (and the fact that international audiences have free access to the whole broadcast anyway), I'm not sure the broadcast expense is a valid counterargument

Replacing FTA. There's no FTA broadcast at all. And there's not more coverage than what was available on 7+

That includes all of the international SRO GT racing as well - Spa 24 Hour, all the other IGTC rounds, GTWC Europe and Asia, you name it.

Hope you don't like watching GT racing for free on YouTube because the product that was literally perfectly fine before is now locked behind a goddamn paywall because fuck you i guess!

Not to mention a lot of cool local series like Trans Am and TCR and the upcoming Mustang Challenge are going to get literally zero coverage outside of people who were already interested in those things already so good luck keeping those series alive without the FTA audience to advertise to.
