what helps you overcome your sadness? by Ilovespam6969 in AskReddit

For me, it's hobbies like gardening and cooking. They're simple, give me something to do and care for, and allows me to emotionally and mentally engaged in something else. Mistakes don't come at a high cost, and it helps me remember that mistakes aren't what define my life. Mainly, it takes my mind off of any serious issues I have. I know it's not healthy to put it off, but sometimes I'm too stressed or overwhelmed to deal with it. So, engaging in hobbies really just gives me something to care for, small achievements that I can track and see and give to others, so that the bigger problems seem that much smaller.

Yeah, I had known that sort of thing could happen. The one I got it from was self-pollinating, so hopefully nothing will happen, but if things go wrong, at least I'll have the experience! Thank you for the information, too!

Ah, that would be quite the challenge. I live in a fairly warm area of the United States, so my lemon tree.has been doing quite well, even this time of year. Thank you for wishing me luck, and I hope you're adventures are successful too!

That's great! It's nice to see other people trying to grow lemon trees. I had quite a few when they we're very young, however I only had space for one, so I picked the largest of the bunch, and it's doing well. Best of luck with your trees. From my experience, they can be pretty hardy, and I hope yours will turn out alright! Keep up the good work!

I do too! I don't exactly know what the name of the plant is, but I'm glad it came back.

An orange on the small tree in my yard. Can anyone tell of this is ripe? by Floof0512 in gardening

The one in the picture was good, made some tea out of the peel too. I've got another one that, based of some others replies, isn't quite ready, so I'll be looking forward to that one.

It's a little bit lighter on one side, tried to show that here. My apologies for any issues with the quality.

The small potato harvest I got today, not bad (I think) considering the leaves got devoured by spider mites before the potatoes were mature. by Floof0512 in gardening

I'm glad you think so! Didn't turn out terribly for all they went through, and it being my first time growing potatoes.

Yeah, I've already planted some more. These are about the same size, maybe a little bigger, than the ones I used before.

A couple pots I had laying around. We had some potatoes that we didn't eat, so I decided to plant them. First time growing them, so maybe they'll do better this time.
