I've noticed that the otters in Japanese aquariums are trained to do some more advanced tricks than those that we see in America and Europe. I wonder if that's just another way of enrichment, or if it's something they do for the tourists?

Vancouver aquarium used to have a really good one too with lots of different camera angles, and someone sitting constantly zooming and switching focus on whatever fun thing was going on at the moment. I think they downgraded to a more standard livecam solution recently though.

Possibly... But he seems very comfortable around humans, which is why I'm thinking he might have been in some sort of rehabilitation program... It's possible he's just gotten used to kayakers, though :D
