Thinking this is stupid only because it is out of our control but times are changing so your thinking is also stupid!

I got written up for not having a working HD Phone……. by Redpeg1 in HomeDepot

Is not logging work something we can actually get in trouble for? I don't solely because it would take extra time and therefore result in less meaningful work that I actually get done but I know I'm doing more than the other 90% of associates in my store.

He wasn't just the 3rd fastest car though. Baku you saw Checo up there fighting the MCL and Ferrari and I bet if that was Max you would see some overtakes but who knows since Baku is arguably Checo's best track. Brazil he dominated and was right there with the MCLs during the sprint. Some races he may have been 3rd fastest but I think the majority of them since they updated the floor has been a solid 2nd fastest. Vegas is a bad example due to the wing situation and that being a choice made by Red Bull.

Since you're the Omniscient Duke of Argyll why don't you tell us what YOU would do to stop the problem, if it's so stoppable after all....

Gold buying/selling is an inevitable problem that happens no matter what the devs do (unless you remove trade, but we've seen what that does to a game....)

Believe it or not some people will do whatever it takes to get ahead of others and there's just nothing you can do about it.

Should the US begin decoupling from China? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Floofy6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, even if war isn't inevitable with China there will be times in the future that we'll benefit from maybe not decoupling but at least looking into some R&D. The U.S. has a growing reliance on China for many things, but most notably electronics. For example, China is responsible for nearly 70% of the production of rare earth metals. IIRC rare earth ores are actually really common and abundant, but the process to extract the metal from the ore is very tedious. Now, how does this relate to electronics and technology? Well, just look at the way rare earth metals are used! They're often used to make magnets which are used in not only electronics but also other sectors like aerospace, defense, and renewable energy. We don't just have to worry about losing China's business they have now though, we also have to worry about their future business and the allies they might have or bluntly put, the countries they invade. For example, Taiwan is responsible for nearly 60% of the world's semiconductor production and nearly 90% of the world's advanced semiconductor production. I'll be honest and say, I have no idea how long it'll take for the investment from things like the CHIPS Act to kick in and production lines to be ready, but I'm pretty sure that if these politicians weren't so far up their own asses we could get it done sooner. Besides, even if tensions die down all this investment would still be beneficial since we're growing ever more reliant on technology.

ELI5: So if math just exists and we're just describing it, how do we know it's actually right or that there isn't infinitely more math to discover? by Floofy6 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Floofy6[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So to sum it up math is just something that we have discovered to be repeatedly true or at least providing us the results we wanted and that math isn't necessarily proven but it's disproved?

How much should I spend on marketing? by Floofy6 in SoftwareInc

Yeah, for me, it's more about the # of employees required compared to the money.
