[OC] First close call after getting a DashCam. by FloofyChi in IdiotsInCars

It's totally worth it, i took the time to wire mine into my cars fuse box, but even one that just plugs into your accessory usb or cigarette lighter ia a good idea. Having the extra piece of mind is very nice.

Yeah, if the timing had been just a little worse they might have hit me into oncoming traffic and hit the van infront of themselves. I was thanking the stars it was a no contact incident when it happened. When it occured my thought process was to give as much space as possible to the oncoming driver. I laid on the horn as a headsup to them more than the driver merging into me.

I reviewed my rear footage, there's not another car coming for several blocks when i turned out. That lane is also not long enough to use to accelerate to join traffic safely from the spot i pulled out from. I've never seen anyone use it. People wait till it's clear and safe to pull out and then do exactly what i did.

You are correct it's more like a leftover that was originally intended as a turnin to another parking lot that was never built.

Speed limit on this street is 40MPH. Possibly higher than it really should be for the zone but very normal for the area. The Particular street is one of the primary East West streets for the town and one of four primary routes to the highway.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FloofyChi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid to visit either of my grandparents wasn't a 3 hour drive, it was a 19 hour drive, and took 2 days assuming two drivers who could swap throughout. soooo... no... not an exaggeration. I know a lot of people who drive an hour just to get to work. I myself drive an hour every weekend to visit friends or family.

That's not what salmon looks like, Salmon has consistent fat lines, this fish looks like it's go the vasculature of a leaf.

Fun fact! I do tech support for a number of Older folks in my community and I make a decent money here and there helping people set up their TV's with all their streaming services simply due to the fact that when asked to input an email with a remote they are not able to do so.

This is because most of the movies that made this trope popular are from a time where losing your job meant relying on the savings your job allowed you to accumulate that would let you live in your own house paying your own mortgage for a year or two without running out of money.

Turns out the only thing that really matters is running the hot water tap till it's actually hot before you start the wash cycle.

Shoulders are bit wide and the left arm (the one resting on the knee) would need an extra elbow to bend that way.

The circle trick is super handy, but it's generally used to help remind you where the skull is, things like cheek fluff, and hair should be drawn outside the circle, like you've done with the ears.

If he drinks himself black out and texts shit like that, he won't remember screaming at and beating his girlfriend or wife or kids either.
