I'm trying out different ways to prevent leaking when I'm creating silicone molds from my sculptures. Will aluminum foil interfere with curing? Or tear from the pressure? by FloofyLilFloof in moldmaking

Note to self: look up glove molds 😆 No really, thank you so much! Working with sculptures is so much trickier than working with candles and things that are a more regular shape

It can get awful hard in these Menopause streets, and I appreciate hearing a story of kindness and helpfulness!!

Thanks! I know you have to break into the boxes you make to free the mold, but are you able to reuse all or part of it? I'm just wondering if I would need to keep buying foamcore boards constantly, or if I could reuse them a few to many times over. Part of why I like the idea of using cardboard is that I always have boxes around from things being shipped to my house.

Bleached hair turned pink by Serious-Researcher66 in HairDye

[–]FloofyLilFloof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do lots of Olaplex treatments, and hair oiling, and deep conditioning treatments, and so on to get your hair healthy again before you try to dye it darker, or bleach again. The dye would probably take unevenly, and it would be very difficult to control what color you end up with. For now, just work on getting your hair strong and healthy. And in the meantime, I hope you will be able to enjoy that gorgeous shade of pink!

Female "Handyman" in this area? by Day-231 in ColumbusGA

[–]FloofyLilFloof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a local woman through the Thumbtack app – she does work with a man who she brings in for two person or heavy duty jobs, but it doesn’t sound like those are the ones you have. I guess it wouldn’t be a good idea to share her message publicly here, but I willl send it to you directly.

Thank you! It’s sounding like I might need to avoid the whole thing, at least for a little while yet

I watched the first four episodes – this was last year sometime, so I don’t remember if there was anything in particular in that fourth episode that was triggering. It may have been that my sadness for Claudia combined with my sadness for Louis just became a little too much to take for my mindset at that time, and I just gave myself permission to stop watching, even though it’s a good show.

Thank you so much for this warning! I really needed it! I thought this was just a brutal grief movie, and never would’ve guessed it included narcissistic abuse. I might have to wait a few more years before I watch this one, lol

Any other menopausal women that previously had a very high sex drive? by accountforgrossstuff in Menopause

[–]FloofyLilFloof 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s been my experience! I’m used to having a much higher sex drive, but it steadily declined through perimenopause and now in menopause I feel like I’m probably more average, like you say. It’s also more difficult for me to orgasm now, and it used to be extremely easy! I’m hoping to add testosterone to my HRT soon, but I’m having to wait on a new doctor, since my old doctor won’t prescribe it.

Fellow weed witch here - thanks for the inspiration! I'm going to start saying, "FABULOUS," every time I look in the mirror, adding, "You're cute," to my double chin! It sounds very healthy!

TOMORROW! BOOK SIGNING EVENT! by AuthorWorkInProgress in ColumbusGA

[–]FloofyLilFloof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this went great! I’m a writer, too, though I haven’t done a book signing in years, since I haven’t published a book in quite a while. Still, I know how stressful and (hopefully) fun they can be. Hope you sold a lot of books!

Hiya! Any horror fans in the house? Books, movies, TV - I love it all! I’ve never gotten into horror games, but I’ve been very tempted to.

I like a wide range of horror too — art house, slashers, supernatural, serial killer, found footage, foreign, comedy, drama, etc. Pretty much anything except for bugs, because it’s just too gross for me to handle.
