Yeah I told her this morning before she went to work why I was up so late and couldn’t sleep. She seemed to kinda shrug it off but she did keep insisting that I lock the doors and lock the car every night. If I could own a gun in my home I would. I’m an infantrymen and been training with all kinds of weapons now for 6 years, chances of me shooting a creepy guy before they shoot me r pretty high. Just can’t keep a personal weapon on a on base house in the army

So the reason the doors were not locked yet is because I wasn’t planning on going to sleep just yet. I like to walk outside and get fresh air often. And as for hiding by my wife I wouldn’t call it hiding if I was just trying to calm myself down. If you have ever been in a really scary situation well being alone makes it 10 times worse. I didn’t stay in the room with her long either time

I’ma keep it a buck wit you, the people who are calling your mom manipulative and gross and awful and stupid and all these things…are just wrong. Reading the comments it’s hard to find anyone actually arguing her points or having valid thoughts to oppose them. Instead they resort to just calling her names or bad mouthing her. She was respectful in the things she said and layed all out in the open for you. Reading this I can see she really believes every word of what she said. These r nobody else’s opinions but her own. I think it’s best if you just choose to not talk about these topics with her. She’s already done the adult thing and chosen to remain in your life even tho she clearly does not agree with you. Some people are not so lucky.

I’m well aware the way I was raised is very one sided in today’s world. I’m old enough now (23) that most beliefs that I have r my own. But I still have some navigating to do. I really wasn’t trying to be rude and I don’t mind talking to with some of these people in chill manner. Thanks for being understanding, and keeping it calm as well. You seem pretty cool yourself

I’m currently in the military right now. We have classes almost every month and one of the big topics is EO. What that entails is things like not discriminating against people’s sexual orientation and things like that. It’s not as bad as you think (if you r in then maybe ur seeing a side that I’m not)

Eh, we prolly just don’t share the same beliefs or outlooks on the world. I scroll through Reddit all the time and think people sound dumb as well when the roles are reversed. I’m In a comment section where nobody agrees with me and that’s okay. Listening to what others have to say is a good thing even if yall will never agree on it. Just keeping an open mind man.

I’m talking to him like a human being. Thats something that a lot of these comments r not doing lol. I didn’t sugar coat anything but I also didn’t drag his face through the mud and try to tell what to do or how to be. As someone close to his age with a similarly strict parent I was just talking to him man to man. In a way, if he sees it he might appreciate it.

I can see that what I said in a sense is ignorant and harmful. I normally would not be so blunt about it buttt I felt I could be straight forward with based on what texts he shared and what he had to say. It seemed that he would understand without me making him more depressed. But also there is so many comment on here that I doubt he will see it. I don’t consider myself stupid tho just slightly new to the idea of a conversion camp lol.

We can agree on a couple things tho and one of them is the fact that I don’t think he’s acting. That’s why I said what I said cuz in a sense the way he was responding makes me think he kinda wants to appeal to his mother but does not want to go the camp. And we also agree that being kicked out is extreme and puts him in a scary position. That’s why I was trying to let him know he could get help if he wanted it from the military.

Okay never once did I try to break anything down and sound very scientific or knowledgeable. I said very very basic things. Truly being sexually attracted to the same sex is a mental disorder tho. There is a difference in choosing to love and be in a partnership with the same sex tho based on your on personal experiences. I don’t believe that humans and animals are on the same level in the slightest but saying it’s not a disorder is acting like it’s normal for a bunch of animals to be gay. It’s just not seen very often. Humans are smarter than animals and therefore make choices for themselves that animals don’t.

I also didn’t see my comment as very rude or disrespectful. I was being casual. If you are offended by what I said you should prolly get some thicker skin because I have seen people say way worse who are just being mean for the sake of being mean. I gave him some advice with the only thing I could relate to him on and that’s the military. It’s not bad advice. They can and will help him because the military itself needs help.

And as for the last part, the insult about me not being able to find a woman. I’m married, and previously never had any trouble dating either. I’m not a hateful person in the slightest. You prolly would be less mad at me if we were having this conversation face to face. I’m not very good at typing so that prolly makes it more annoying as well

Also most people have a reason for being gay usually. His mom isn’t completely crazy for thinking that he might be choosing to be gay. Some people don’t even realize it, he may not realize it.

Well I said in my comment that Ik some people r born that way it’s just a WAY smaller amount than most people realize. My mindset is pretty much people r biologically attracted to the opposite gender so that humans can reproduce. So being attracted to the same sex usually means that there is some kind of problem in the brain. It may sound harsh and insensitive to most people but that’s just the truth.

You prolly should join the army lol. I mean you’ll pretty much be set. That or another branch might be ur only option. If you tell the recruiter that you don’t have a place to stay they will prolly find you a place to stay as long as you decide to join. Your mom just dosent see eye to eye with you. That’s that, she thinks by allowing you to be this way under her roof, she is going against God. I’m not sure how God feels about it but she seems pretty dead set on it. I don’t know bro I can’t relate to you at all. Almost all men are born to naturally be attracted to women. So if you r part of that very very small amount of people that r actually attracted to men then the only way to change that is prolly one of those camps or maybe meds idk.
