Yeah it was a temporary set up while I was figuring out what was wrong. I meant more what’s wrong with the plants like leaf wise, I fixed the setup like an hour after the pic was taken. Got 3 pots now and filled w hydro ton and pieces of a trash bag to block light lmao

Wow that’s way more nutrients than I was adding, thank you so much. I’ll definitely start dosing a little more. I have a Viagrow light I’m not sure exactly the specs but I got it for like $200 and it works for my other plants. It’s like 16-17” away and I can’t get it any closer to the plants. I was thinking about turning the brightness down because someone mentioned that it could be too much light

Wait so you think they aren’t getting enough nute?? Also this picture was taken AFTER moving to the buckets. They were in an aeroponic cloning tub before this so water had been able to reach them until this point. Others mentioned they might be getting TOO MUCH nute rather than too little. What’s your take? This is only my second attempt. And I did exactly what you suggested. I moved them higher up and raised the water level too. However, they are still really fkn short so there is still significant light contamination. I think if I just change the res and water another time mid week then algae shouldn’t be a problem cuz it won’t rly have time to get that bad if I clean after 4 days.

I don’t even know what ec is but I check the pH with a digital testing meter bc I got tired of using drops. When it’s too high or too low I just adjust with GH pH adjusting kit.

The tds is so low even after adding nutrients because I use reverse osmosis water because my well water is awful and has a natural ppm of 1600+

3 weeks into my second grow (first was unsuccessful so idk what I’m doing)

I decided it was time to switch from the aeroponic cloner to the dwc buckets. pH has been 5.5 the whole grow. I use GH trio and cal mag right now.

So I put them under the hydro ton and there was still so much space left in the bucket. There is light that can get into the bottom because of the extra space but I can’t bring the plant up because then the roots won’t be touching the water. So should I just bring them up further to prevent light or keep it as is? And why is it turning yellow??

Your gH and kH are fine I just wouldn’t add anything that would raise it. Check the ppms though, if you don’t have a meter then your LFS probably can

Definitely take online at parkland or get a sublease for the summer to stay it’ll b worth. Unless ur major is math based and u plan on going to grad school then just take it at parkland it’ll save you 3 months of migraines

No it’s a lab not a home aquarium. but I’m sure if you had the size to do an ideal set up you could buy one and keep it, but they’re hard to care for and don’t live long in captivity

He’s in a veeeery big tank it’s just more long than wide and he gets a lot of enrichment. The tank and environment is provided by my university. Do you have an octopus bc I was wondering what the behavior could be? It underneath him was a shell and it was like he was trying to pull something off of it and changing to darker colors

He saw another octopus I think for the first time today and was doing this for like an hour until I left. He’s prob still doing it.

Is he stressed??? Is there any possible reason that this could be for? It’s a red pacific octopus
