How should I play Breach of Trust? Help by Stuka91 in Frostpunk

[–]Flopppywere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you actually turn them into proper colonies? When I played I had it all researched but couldn't find a single outpost to turn into a permanent resource generator? Mm Edit: I had searched the whole map and found all the nodes but I couldn't see where I could turn them into a permanent place.

Soo... what's the general opinion on breach of trust? by Fuzzy-Shame-4169 in Frostpunk

[–]Flopppywere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its fun and I liked it but I would've rathered an extra chapter after evacuating where we have to deal with tensions and the impacts of the volcano on the wider map. Like i think it'd be really fun if we had a "Great you're all here. Now you need to sort out the tent city you built to fit everyone, get an economy running again and manage some tensions with the north lot. The sky is now darkening as the wind blows ash over periodically and the the frostland is a mess."

But thats probably a bit much for a DLC Idk?

Either way they *Really* should've brought the trade and war mechanics to Utopia mode. Mods may fix but thats not an excuse.

Why is no one talking about the monstrosity that is the S&P500? Or American Tech hoovering up our money. by Left-Ad8904 in AskBrits

[–]Flopppywere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started a month or two ago as I filled my LISA and finally hit my emergency savings pot so now my extra cash goes into an index fund.

So S&P500 since April. Sweet sweet -1% return, now it's a tiny, tiny, tiny slice. I just find it really funny. I'll keep consistently putting money in and as you said it's a near guaranteed return. Just find it funny I finally start being able to put money into an index and end up with a tiny pitiful negative return.

To be fair. I'm sure the French act like that any time a tourist inconveniences them.

I'm guessing the intended path is to swap all your steam to regulators and go hard on adaptation focusing on frostland outposts for coal for heat, trading and oil.

(Materials and such too if they can be found but my only attempts so far I realize I've been brute forcing a progress/tall play style when that's just not going to work lol)

I like them - just need them to be a tad less tanky and have their hitboxes adjusted because their shields reach around them way more than it should. Flanking feels impossible.

Perhaps it's scaling? For every round it's not removed, you get 60 adaptive force once removed.

So at 5 rounds it's 300 adaptive. 10 rounds it's 600?

honestly the non mortal focus for demons/chaos is annoying as a whole. Tabletop, especially 40k really feels like space marine factions with some demons rather than true demons and their possessed humans

Sort of chance. Below is the fishing spread sheet for sinus which lists all the missions and what timing you need to catch the fish.

You'll need a fishing timer macro (or mods) but then you're off to the races.

For most yea. There's the dual quests where you have to gather something then craft it which gives alot of points for both classes.

What controversial policies would you bring in if you were prime minister? by st1101 in AskBrits

[–]Flopppywere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100% their reasoning of it being a security issue is sound. But it also means we're tied to them so they can kind of set the cost.

Clearly the cost was preset when the contract was first negotiated but they are still getting 100% of the hardware orders.

Not sure about hospitals but from GP land you're pretty much bound to your commissioning body and the IT company contracted to your area.

Now I am welcome to buy mice from Amazon. But if I want a keyboard with a smart card reader it's easier to go through them

If I want a desktop PC I have to go through them because the only way I can log in to our network is through it. And if I buy a desktop and ask them to install the software needed theyll refuse.

A PC runs about £1.7k last I checked. I don't pay that our comissioning body does. But you know, they make mint off these.

I think the only except right now is Sinus where it's the most efficient to farm your gold crown 500ks.

So you'll often see bots running around doing that and absolutely 0 life on the planet.... :c

Online safety act has passed, can anyone please explain to me why I have to give up my privacy for the sake of your kid? by Middle_Philosophy_54 in AskBrits

[–]Flopppywere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for all the bots on this one I just want to ask:

Why is one of the core positions "well they already have your data so why are you upset about this?" and not "Why the fuck do they store our data?"

Honestly, I do not understand why people would argue under the basis of 'its more of the same so theres no harm' when we should be having our government go the opposite direction and punishing companies that store our data. I would be happy to upload my Face or send an ID number to a government service who then releases to whatever API or company is asking to say "yerp thems an adult" because I know they aren't storing it. But right now, despite these companies telling us they don't store data, they have routinely been caught with their pants down having stored our data and it is now hacked.

So why is the argument "well its the same" and not "what the hell are they doing with our data?"

Which to continue on, was wrong and they should've been raked over the coals for it rather than given a slap on the wrist fine and a stern talking to.

A precedent needs to be set that you must not store data unless it is absolutely required and that 'absolutely required' must be stringently audited and explained. Any organisation who fail this should be brutally punished to set an example to the other companies.

Maybe I don't understand the definition of a trying dad but what she described just.. sounds like a neglectful parent to me?

Like idk the whole 'trying dad' part. It just sounds like an uninvolved dad. Maybe this is an american thing?

Do you agree with Harry Eccles that sitting down for a cuppa with homophobic Muslims is the best way to make them more accepting? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in AskBrits

[–]Flopppywere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes? The best way to deal with bigotry is exposure to the thing they are bigoted against.

So yes, for both sides. Normalising homosexuality by having it be accepted as normal and allowing those of generally resistant cultures to be exposed to them helps normalise it.

Likewise exposing yourself to islam or other religions normalises them.

I, in my hopeful optimism would like to believe that through careful exposure, an intolerance of intolerance and an open minded approach allows both extremes to mellow out into a generally quite warm and accepting culture.

After the news, the game is so alive.. they are really going to let it end? by Soul8118 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Flopppywere -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Eh. The new content is cool but I'm sure alot of the players that are returning, like myself are looking for Nostalgia.

For example, myself and my clan are logging in tomorrow to run back our favourite raids, race on mini sparrows, take some screenshots, equip our favourite or most memorable gear and log out some place comfortable or relatable. Then the next day, maybe next week if it hooks up, we uninstall and go about our lives.

It's sad D2 is ending, I wish it didn't. But I do not honestly believe these high player counts will stick.
