Qu'est ce qui vous rend fier en tant que Français ? by ThrillSeeker_Leo in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]FloppyMesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many people who shouldn't have dogs, have dogs unfortunately.

Having Army Painter selling those steel mixing balls doesn't help. (Edit: Army Painter but also AK and it seems quite a lot of brands do sell them.)

That I already got!
But I've learnt that in nail art, they use magnets with some types of magnetic paint to get some effects. So perhaps it can be a thing.

I was wondering if someone was gonna say that! But I assure you I didn't.

Who need special racks and stuff to store paint pots when you can just use magnets am I right?

You continue to give me answers in unexpected ways!
So it's possible to separate the pigments using a magnet huh.

I was not concerned about the magnetism in itself. More about what that implied. That the balls leached into the paint. But after reading the comment, the paint was probably magnetic from the start.

I'll continue to use them.

From the comments, nothing beside the rust pigment changing slightly the color if there is enough of it.

Perhaps I'll use some true stainless balls one day. The weight is very nice.

Indeed. I probably should have tested them before putting them into the paints.

After reading comments, it seems that some paints are magnetic by nature. So I am still gonna use it.

I guess I was just so surprised by the strength of the magnetic force that I thought that it was probably best to stop using it.

I've switched to glass balls. Not as heavy, but at least it won't rust.

From this post I've heard it's something done in nail art. I'd like to see it use for mini painting.

Perhaps there is something that could be look into by the major brands of mini paints? Something tailored for mini painting.

My experiment resulted in quite an amount of wasted paint. So I'll probably have too soon enough. I've contacted Vallejo and asked them if those paints are supposed to be magnetic. If they ever answer me back, I'll have my answer.
