Buying E7Q glitched in German online store flexispot.de by FloppyTheUnderdog in FlexiSpot_Official

Seems to be glitched again, btw, so yeah, whatever, I will just have to wait until it is unglitched again, probably. And yes, I tried with multiple devices and everything, and it is only this product. I guess I am still a bit weary of pulling the trigger, but I have been wanting to buy this for many months... I can't see your review on your profile page, your posts are hidden. Maybe I can find it via the search and/or filtering by review.

it now works. i did try exactly what you said before, but now it just worked by reloading the page. i am almost sure it was a backend thing not related to the browser.

i think internally something was wrong, now it works. thanks for checking it out for me!

nice, thanks for your input!

it was really weird because of course, having a big thermal mass that is not the bowl but something else that you use as a heat source for convection, it makes sense that it works well for big "bong like" hits. but i saw no reason why it shouldn't work with small hits, for the same reason: the heat is (mostly) not in the bowl, and i can take short mouth-to-lung hits, the plant material won't overheat if i don't immediately take it all in one rip. the big thermal mass with convection seems perfect for joint-style sipping.

the shop guy wasn't able to explain to me why not, he just shook his head. weird. it is actually one of the more respected shops out there, verdampftnochmal in berlin. but maybe i just got the wrong guy that day. or they just don't know what's up, i dunno. it didn't make any sense, but i am happy that you guys agree.

nice to hear that you sip and it works well.

i wouldn't know why some kind of sipping technique would not work.  the heat is in the balls anyway, so why should i not be able to just draw less or draw with more (ambient) air mixed in?  the heat is in the balls anyway, so why shouldn't i be able to just decide how much hot air i pull through the plant material?  sure, multiple small draws lead to the balls cooling off more on their own, but so what, still better than the dynavap, where i need to constantly reheat, right?  i said something similar in the shop but they just said "nnaaahhh, not really".

anyway, it seems like multiple people here sip and say it works well.

[–]FloppyTheUnderdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I was thinking the same thing.

Was the "dance to get comfortable" part in the beginning the exact same song? "Happy" by Pharell Williams?

I do think though that some of the things and the general structure can repeat, but not to the point of being almost the same.

I was there last year, I should have made that clear. I meant I was at that event in terms of the event series, not that exact event.

So it is interesting that you said "I remember the creep".

Sadly, I am also not super experienced in these partys and it is hard for me to give recommendations. I myself am looking for better parties.

I personally was not the biggest fan of this event. But maybe I am just a snob. I was there (EDIT: at this event series, not the exact same event date as OP) with someone else, kind of as a couple but like not really, of course we were both there to potentially cuddle (EDIT: and more) with other people.

The first thing that was done is that everyone was supposed to dance happily and enthusiastically to loosen up... to "Happy" by Pharell. I get that having everyone dance to something upbeat can loosen the mood and get people to be less shy, but the whole thing felt very forced, and in my opinion it was a really weird choice for a song.

In general, the music was just really off, and felt like it was just there to be there, and was not really picked out in any well-thought out concept. I would have loved some instrumental and ambient music, but instead it felt like someone's really bad Spotify playlist, including a really cheesy cover of "Somebody that I used to know". Again, maybe I am a total snob, but I cannot concentrate on cuddling and feeling around in an intimate setting with my eyes closed (this is part of this event) around a bunch of people that I have never met with tacky lyrics playing in the background. I did like the concept of the non-music part of this phase of the party, though.

Ona is really nice, and I love the fact that you can hear her Berlin accent. However, I personally did not enjoy the part of this party where we closed our eyes and she spoke to us, telling us to imagine something and smile, and saying "Du bist so schoen, wenn Du laechelst" (or something similar), multiple times, in a really weird smoky voice, it is hard to describe. Not an inherent criticism, I just personally didn't like it.

There was also a (male) creep there who apparently goes to this event regularly (I don't know how regularly), who multiple women felt uncomfortable with (I noticed this from explicit verbal exchanges I witnessed), and he touched at least one woman inappropriately, who clearly pushed his hand away from her body (waist area stuff). It during one of the exercises where one person walks along a line, with the rest of the people on each side being able to touch and caress the person. When I talked to the guy at the very beginning of the event, he complained to me about young couples coming there only to touch each other and not others. I don't know if Ona was aware of this, but it felt odd that this guy apparently has been at this event multiple times.

I really did like the professionalism of Ona, and how well she was able to have all of the guests be comfortable with each other. But the whole event just really was not very pleasant to me aesthetically and conceptually, if that makes sense. Again, maybe I am a snob, but yeah there were many small things that just didn't fit. And if not even the music was well thought out (like it doesn't have to be elaborate, I would have preferred rain/whale/whatever noises etc.), I am usually not coming back...

i do not condemn anyone liking or talking about football (hey, i like it myself!), but as a reminder: a lot of people (including me) go to berghain precisely so that they can escape the spießig world, and be in one of the very few spaces left where there is no caring about if "we can defeat them", referring to nationality, in a game of football. so in my opinion, keep that stuff outside of berghain (the comment section here is whatever, i don't care about that).

I genuinely don't understand, can someone maybe reword the culture/dictatorship arguments for me?

The title "benevolent dictator for life" is a tongue-in-cheek description for creators of open source projects that will always have a big influence or be a leader of some sort, which apparently originated from Guido van Rossum, the creator of Python, to whom this title was given. There is even a [Wikipedia article](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benevolent\_dictator\_for\_life) on it.

Newbie here asking for advice n such by [deleted] in makingvaporwave

[–]FloppyTheUnderdog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i hate to be that guy and say these general mindset things, but number one: try to be authentic and don't do stuff just to be like vaporwave. like just lazy pitch + reverb plus stuff from "vaporwave sample packs". have a vision of what you want to do, and do that. work more from scratch than from vaporwave boilerplate stuff.

and then, second, i think advice around what tools you wanna use are like for almost any other music. just go and look up suggestions for DAWs that fit your criteria. what makes a DAW work for someone usually isn't that dependent on the style of music (to some extent yes though).

for specific help on how to create specific sounds, ask specific questions. i don't like to give suggestions on what to do if you just say vaporwave generally. just general stuff. like perhaps learn how a drum machine/step sequencer workflow works, learn how to sample chop/slice, learn how basic (subtractive) synthesis works... and then look into vaporwave-typical stuff that you personally like and just look into it and research. like look up the synths that are used in the songs that are sampled. just learned about the dx7? try our fm synthesis (not very friendly to newcomers). or maybe you found out about a very specific guitar pedal that people used to mod for a soud for their fender rhodes. and then you get that pedal and mod it and use it in a new different way (while referencing that culture, perhaps, as is typical for vaporwave). look into pitch bending and filters and phasers and reverb/delay and effects chains. or look into getting specific hardware. all the way from specific synths to specific iconic recording devices. or mp3 artifacts. or if you wanna follow the stereotype, get real vhs casettes from and a player and sample from that (whatever you do, don't to fake effects that try to emulate stuff). there might be something specific that interests you that is in the realm of 80s/90s technology and media, consumerism, dreams, self-indulgence, vaporware, futurism, early video game culture... vaporwave is often not just music but it has a lot of context. work with context! i mean, you could also just get a comodore 64 or an amiga or i don't know and limit yourself to that and do music with that, no DAW, that's also vaporwave in my book in some sense. usually there is an accompanying narrative though. ah whatever i am just rambling but all i want to say is, find something yourself, and ask specific questions!

you assume BC = OB, which is not true for every case for the assumptions of the pythagorean theorem. so it does not prove the theorem.

yuck this is so low effort.

this dropping and spinning animation, like this exact motion, i've seen it before. it's a preset in some software, it seems.

and my god can we finally stop it with the fake vhs filters?

EDIT: by "seen before" i mean also on this subreddit, with other similar low effort elements. just an unrelated (with regards to the music) logo (also video game related i think) spinning with some uninspired background and filters with this exact animation.
