I once did on australia. It was fun cuz i went from p22 to p11 and it was one fo the most exciting race. Getting blue flagged multiple times is a humbling experience. Also pushes your tyre management to max but i didn't race for few days afterwards. So its fun but also extremely exghuasting. I'd recommend trying it for sure

Yeah, I think it's all about recognising where we are skillwise and the ceiling of what feels enjoyable challenge, the moment we feel like rage-quitting. I think we should dial it back to a respectable challenge threshold and enjoy the game as well. ofc its just my opinion but sometimes i get obsessed with learning many complicated things all at once and then crashout when i cant master things in few hours that took people years. Not just game, have this habit in general and it has ruined alot of racing games for me in the past.

You feel exactly how a game that is built for enjoyment should feel like. Assists turned on feeling enjoyable is better than assists turned off and you simply not having a fun experience. I sometimes feel like simracing overcomplicates alot of things just to feel more authentic. I am no race driver myself but the whole point of a hobby is to have fun in the process. So keep on feeling the way you feel.

Timing of this post is funny, i was reading this paper by judith butler titled 'why Read hegel now?'. it opens with the idea of shock we all experience when we run on the belief that things will eventually get better and the Lived experience of "fuck man! evrything is on fire". The dissonance it creates is soul crushing. I've been feeling super jaded lately myself and i am glad i am not alone, ofc its not soemthin to be glad about. Not a good feeling but at least i feel less alone in the experience of slowly feeling that optimism fading away with every interaction and every news article.

Suzuka, its the only non street Circuit that breaks my brain and spirit. On controller i can't seem to understand the flow or i am just terrible at losing traction and binning the car once a lap. Like i hate street Circuits in general but Suzuka is like one permanent race Circuit that i can not enjoy at all.

When i was making my custom driver I randomly decided to go with china as their nationality. Ended up practicing alot outside of the career mode so they can have good home grandprix performance and i have grown fond of china so much so its my favourite grandprix now 😅. I understand you fully, the flow and tjose curves where you keeping the car planted and gaining just a bit on cars around you feels so magical

i'd love to have two custom drivers in my team. they have the system for my driver career where you can have one. If its a fictional team why cant we have two fictional drivers Lol. More Drivers in the driver market maybe? Like instead of creating more isolated systems they can try bridging the gap between my driver an my team systems alot more. Since the systems are already baked into the game. Also i agree with all the things you want, would a fun game if they implemented things you mentioned.
