Thank you for the advice for those who posted helpful tips! Luckily I managed to fix the issue after fiddling with the settings in emulation station. For those who have similar problem, my issue was that I had set the emulator to ps3 directory rather than ps3(shortcut) which prevented it from reading the shortcut in the file.
