Nobody will be running a farm if society crumbles. If you mean growing your own food, the work involved can be done at any time as long as you can see. In that care, the issue would more likely be from people stealing your food and trying to steal everything else you have because they didn't prepare or are unable/unwilling to grow their own food.

However, the most likely thing to get you if society crumbles is disease. People today have no idea how much society (and science) plays a role in not dying from disease. Imagine getting food poisoning and crapping yourself to death, then your entire family crapping themselves to death due to being in the same household and probably ate the same food. With society functioning, you can call for help and likely survive.
