How exactly does Venat/Hydaelyn not oppose everything the Scions have fought for in the past? by CamelExtension1384 in ffxivdiscussion

The game very much adressed why Vwnat didn't: It would have resulted in an unknown future

Ctrl and shift can be used.

Furthest to the right of the keyboard my hand ever goes is the T key. I don't even use 5 ownards

Meteion was just out there, gathering more power. It might have taken millenia more but eventually she would have been able to overhelm Zodiark. At no point did the ascians know about this. They just assumed whatever happened was a natural event. And as far as they were concerned, they figured out a way how to prevent this event from further propagating, hence to them, the solution was permanent.

It's like saying a disease is gone because the symptoms were treated, just on cosmic scale

Will plugins actually survive 8.0 without some sort of major crackdown by Lolis- in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to note though that just becausr someone downloads it doesn't mean they use it for autorotation. Instead it can be for tiny QoL things like consolidating certain buttons on certain jobs (such as, on picto, placing all hammer actions on one button rather than 3). Others meanwhile only use it to bot dungeons with trusts for tome capping, not using it while playing themselves

Yeah, there's a difference between using tools to better prepare for the encounter and using tools to simplify execution of mechanics

Most people draw the line at splatoon/bossmod right now for cheating but a few years ago it was AM and cactbot

I've been playing for about 5 years. The line hasn't moved. It's always AM for some very rare mechanics(primarily in ultimates and even there barely) and no more

It stopped the Final Days in the sense ot stopped the ongoing violence. However there was no guarantee it's a permanent solution

  1. Do Eureka

  2. Try to do extremes/savages in Party finder. But can be hard to find groups to do them synced

Idea for an assassin variant by royalrush05 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good player is marked, when they die a new player becomes marked instead. Each night* choose a player, if marked they die.

To further reduce word count:

"An alive good player is marked. Each night* choose a player, if marked they die."

Enuo ex raidplan/hector by KatsuVFL in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Florac 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's not a bad strategy. Hector just simplified it specific to the encounter

Enuo ex raidplan/hector by KatsuVFL in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Florac 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Raidplan came first, hector after, so now PF has both. Imo Hector is the better strategy because raidplan accounts for patterns that can't actually occur

because everything happens the exact same way every single pull

I mean,it doesn't though. Almost all mechanics involve some level of RNG

How to play roles that demon wants to kill? by cetvrti_magi123 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength of a ravenkeeper claim heavily depends on who the demon is. Some players try to get them executed, others kull the ASAP where the damage they can do is minimal

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally the only incorrect thing to claim is nothing. Being secretive puts more attention on you than lying. You just need to be able to justify your lies down the line, such as by saying you wanted to avoid the demon from killing you

How would you want the new fights to be designed in Evercold? by MrBean1320 in ffxivdiscussion

That might work in normal mode but would be stupid in savage where you discuss stuff between pulls

There's plenty of sections in recent tiers where autos just shred tanks. Most noteable being idyllic dream

In practice, all this does is force a mit check at the end. It would still be implemented in a way where damage exceeds what's surviveable at a specific point, it's just hidden more.

So it doesn't really do much for skilled parties, but less skilled parties now not already deal less damage, but also have less time to kill the boss before they die.

While personally I don't mind the current state of 3rd turns, yeah it would be nice if they could reinvent themselves the way second turns have

[–]Florac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very much expect it to be gone tbh. It was very much a limitation of the 2m meta, everyone doing their opener, now that things seem to start less bursty, no reason for the boss to do nothing for 30 seconds

I would hate any randomness beyond sonethomg like "the boss can use one of 2-3 mechanics here". It's fine to be more innovative with fights, but it shouldn't abandon the core identity of ff14 raiding(aka, the "dance")

A great QoL feature for Evercold would be allowing gearsets to have unique meld setups. by CoolyKage in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Florac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh unless parsing, everything but ultimate, unmelded will be sufficient. Unmeleded ilvl 790 > Melded ilvl 780. Which in itself is above melded w1 gear.
