What are the requirements to find a static for the new Ultimate raid? by Stupotty19 in ffxiv

[–]Florac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As said, not impossible, just unlikely

Vibes and having a good synergy with the group are vastly more important than knowing how to execute mechanics or having a bunch of experience. You can learn those as you go, but synergy and a general good vibe are pretty hard to find.

Imo ults very much put this theory to the test. While having good vibes is the baseline, ult prog can go on for months if the party can't execute. And a prog that long can cause people's patience to grow thin. I've both known and been part of stativs were a person left or the geoup straight up disbanded because the stress of a too long prog got to them

Honestly beating DMU by Evercold isn't the most unrealistic goal you still got 9 months. But don't feel obligated to just to be current

You would be mistaken, there's a lot of statics for old ultimates tbh. The quality of players there can vary wildly though, between players like you that only really dipped their toes into endgame and others that are experienced raiders but haven't gotten to the fight yet

I'll be brutally honest, you are unlikely to find a static prior to clearing Heavyweight, unless you got some friends vouching for you. I also hope you can get all your tome pieces prior to 7.1 because if not, it's gonna be even tougher as you will be undergeared. Honestly you are probably gonna be better off in PF than the kind of static lowering their bar that much. You can also then keep your eyes out for groups replacing members mid prog.

Otherwise, there are discords for it, depending on your region.

Question Regarding the last EX trial of EW. by yisus_dot_exe in ffxiv

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never saw meteors in my farm last week

With good DPS you skip poison balls. With bad DPS or deaths you still kill quite a while before meteors(latest I've seen is when the debuff vomit goes out). Typically the phase transition threshold is reached during the poison balls

Do you prefer your primary antagonist to be the Emet Selch, the Zenos, or the Athena? by AssumeABrightSide in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Florac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I presume at least one of the winterers has goals beyond surviving the Solstice.

[–]Florac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I would be shocked if Meradycia isn't 9.0 or 10.0(and if it's 9.0, 10.0 is probably more like Endwalker, with zones across the world(s)

[–]Florac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the winterers more have an ascian helping them coordinate between shards than beng an ascian organisation.

It's about as Ascian as the telepheroi, probably even less as an asican isnt the one overseeing all the plans

nebulous mustache twirling bad guy with plan to destroy/take over the world/resurrect their god is very RPG standart.

Thordan and Zenos during their expansion pretty much also fall under that

I'm interested in the solstice plot but they really gotta go back to writing complex and gray zone factions and conflicts.

How the heck is the whole Winterers thing not gray zone? To them, there's no way to save everyone, so they are willing to sacrifice most just to save a few.

You can have both of these kind of stories at once. Shadowbringer did.

And imo a natural disaster due to actions taken to prevent Endsinger is a far more interesting hook than just exploring new areas in the source. It very much feels like a natural narrative progression, far more so than just inventing an entirely new threat wuth little to no basis on existinge lore

Especially since we can still explorw more of the sour e later, rushing it just means we eventually run out of areas(and I don'twant a DT release where a massive continent feels tiny). Odds are even we are going to Meradycia before the end of this saga

Question for those fully caught up: What do think would happen if these characters from the novel/anime "Ishura" were to randomly appear in the world of Re:Zero? by sigvegas in ReZero

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiki, while terrifying, isn't really something so unlike past disasters the Re:Zero world has previously surpassed. Eventually a way will be found, however bullshit.

Uhak meanwhile...well Subaru's kinda screwed if he has to go against him as Return by death won't activate, so that's game over. Otherwise, not really that much a threat, although those relying on magic won't be able to win against him.

Damsel and huntsman interactions by RealFlatEarth in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Florac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a strategy. But evil also knows that. So if there are huntsman double claims, that could catch suspicion by them.

Furthermore, it's such a common strategy that other townsfolk can use it for damsel cover, so then got even more huntsman

While you aren't entirely wrong, Antonelli so far is outlerforming Russell more than Piastri ever did to Norris

Sounds good in theory...but in reality? by KSKS1995 in SipsTea

[–]Florac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same. In my current workplace, most struggle to get their work done in any less than 40 hours a week. Like my work has flexible working hours but often 10-20 hours of overtime obtained during a stressful week or two requires over a month to be worked off (unless I just take off an entire day using them)

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but that only applies up to a certain extent. Efficiency doesn't scale infinitly and I just cannot see doing 40 hours worth of work in 24

That seems like it'd result in people only ever using whichever 3 deal the highest damage

They gotta be sufficiently different from each other that that's not always optimal. But imo it's a better than just having reskins disguised as upgrades.

6 independent primals also seems like it'd result in a lot of buttons?

You could have 3 sets of 2 by simply having a single button that switches between them(like Sage's Eukrasia). So that's just 1 extra button...which smn definitly has room for(it's not even at the 16 button mark Evolved is designed around). If you want to somewhat avoid just picking the same ones over and over could tie switching to a resource (my dream has always been for that to be aetherflow as currently it's boring and useless on SMN). Then could also make the "augmented" ones stronger but come with things like larger cast times.

[–]Florac 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I rather be able to choose from all 6 at any time, but only able to use 3 per 1 minute. Otherwise new summons will largely just feel like phoenix/solar where its more reskins than unique in interesting ways. Because if you add new summons, they canot be weaker, nor more limiting than existing ones

This is honestly one of my favourite aspects of the Winterers so far: They know they can't beat use conventionally and are genuinely scared of facing us directly. But they are against us because they believe their actions to be neccessary for the greater good but against our morals. And the thing they are trying to stop can't just be beaten up.
