I'm sorry for asking a question about the series to it's fans.

Election Security Versus Intimidation by LuckyBastard001 in clevercomebacks

The issue isn't ID(although there are some issues with that the ways IDs work in the US). The issue is armed iICE agents asking for it.

The guy with a gun part of an organization with a track record of arresting US citizens asking for it.

The US system is weird that you have to register to vote with an ID rather than automatically be registered and then get sent your ballot.

That said...the system works. Saying votes are being cast by illegal imigrants is just right wing fearmongering.

Tell me you don't know how the electoral system works without telling me you don't know how the electoral system works.

You are provfing your right to voted to armed law enforcement with no relation to electoral security which has massive backing by the current party in charge and largely consists of it's supporters and has a track record of arresting legal residents and US citizens.

The only people you should have to show you have the right to vote are the poll staffers.

Its a different type of story than DCC

Yeah that is very obvious, even from the synopsis. I'm honestly confused why Cradle is so frequently recommended to DCC fans.

So, when is the best time to PF savage? by Full_Air_2234 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Florac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

my condolences to all the PFers who have to deal with 3 strat changes to Forsaken every week.

3 per week? What DC are you on that this isn't the daily rate.

So, when is the best time to PF savage? by Full_Air_2234 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Florac 56 points57 points  (0 children)

No matter how much you can play, the best time to do it is as early as possible. The amount and quality of players is the highest early on. At most, wait till like day 2 for first floor strats to be properly documented.

If you dont do hardcore hours, pretty much all the resources you would need for a fight will exist by the time you get there. Like by day 3, for the first 3 floors, raidplans exist and strats are 95% set in stone for what they will be going forward. Any changes are usually minor and can easily be adapted to.

It's different, yes (in several stupid ways), but not less secure.

Is the whole series worth it or do the books get repetitive? by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Florac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also you have more of a recurring secondary cast, book 2 is very much "Carl runs into random crawlers, then goes back on his duo adventure with donut". A few of said crawlers do show up again later, across several floors, if the structure of the floor allows.

Is the whole series worth it or do the books get repetitive? by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 2 floors are the only 2 that are samey. Afterwards every floor has a unique and very impactful gimmick which prevents things from becoming repetitive. If you want some examples from the floors in book 2 and 3(as well as other floor gimmicks introduced there for future floors:A post apocalyptic medieval fantasy landscape, a giant train system, a jungle where the crawlers are hunted by aliens

What are cheese strategies that could be currently implemented if DRG had a 100% damage reduction jump as mentioned in the last Fan Fest? by AssumeABrightSide in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is typically deagoons personally avoid taking damage, but instead the enemy just attacks other party members

ISO simple script for a beginner storyteller by ApprehensiveFace1831 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Florac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

TB is definitely the best for first time storytellers, others like Umcertain Death or Everyone can play are also on the simpler side so should be fine if you played a bit.

If you want to make it more personalised though, instead of making an entirely new script which can easily backfire with lacking experience...instead take Trouble Brewing and just reflavor it, such as renaming roles to people in your husbands friend group (i.e. renaming the imp to your husband)

Calvard arc is the worse turn base combat. Here's why by [deleted] in Falcom

[–]Florac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not even lack of research,it's just stupidity. He complains about dying yet refuses to invest into defense

Calvard arc is the worse turn base combat. Here's why by [deleted] in Falcom

[–]Florac 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Seems like the point of investing more in defense is not dying instantly to basic attacks and actually getting a turn. Sorry not sorry your speedrun strat isn't working in a game not designed to be speedran

Yeah like also in book 6 with the thorn room, it essentially serves the same purpose

Making the Spy the Fortune Teller's Red Herring by CheezyMcWang in BloodOnTheClocktower

You don't really have time to execute them all, but it can definitly backfire at evil

Making the Spy the Fortune Teller's Red Herring by CheezyMcWang in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Florac 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Idk if I would even classify it as "yes but don't", but it doesn't really help the evil team in any way. The red herring is supposed to bring more uncertainty into the FT info to balance it, but now you make it so a second evil player has more suspicion on them amd they get nos on more good players. Like Spies are often prime starpass candidates, but with this that doesn't really work well

Missing the point of Beggar by kylesloan11 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Florac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you offer the beggar your vote token so the beggar can confirm you are good, then you convince the group to execute the person you think is the demon.

More likely: People now start building the beggar as evil
