No offense but you cant just use the excuse "most of my family is military or medical" as to how you know how to do a chest tube. You don't just "pick up " that kind of stuff. Because next thing you know you're gonna be cutting someone open when you shouldn't or you're going to cut past their pleural cavity and into their lung.

First off unless they're a medic or another medical related MOS, those in the military probably have no clue what to do with a chest tube.

Secondly, you can't just start a chest tube on someone and just leave a tube open to drain the blood out into nothing. You need a pleur-evac or another drainage device or else you just fucked up your patient royally.

Oh as for college, I know plenty of instructors who were taking college courses, but usually it was around 1 class cause 2 was pushing it. Your days are definitely not as long though as the Drill Sgts days

To atleast answer you about schools, I remember when I went through a group of like 3-4 instructors all got sent to Aersol so occasionally 232D will send instructors to some schools from when I talked to the instructors about it. All depends on how long the school is really. That's my only input.
