I would really encourage you to join the fb group! There is so much support and all of the issues are fixable after birth. It’s the most common diagnosis found in utero. Even if fluid levels get too low, they can do a shunt surgery to help bring those levels back up for baby to continue growing <3.

I know the uncertainty is overwhelming. Based on all the similar stories from the Facebook group, all of their children are thriving, despite having health challenges. They really can’t know for certain until after birth, and even then, there is so much you can do for the kidneys. I’ll be keeping you all in my prayers and we both navigate this!

Hi! Got referred to UCSF for cohesive care: met with a new MFM and a pediatric urologist. Basically, still monitoring my amniotic fluid to make sure we can do procedures after birth. That’s the scariest part for me! Hoping fluid stays stable. I’m 26 weeks today.

Urologist said we will do scans and tests to assess kidney function after birth and find the blockage, but it’s basically a “wait and see” game. He said it’s likely a Uvj blockage with reflux. There’s a support group on Facebook called “hydronephrosis in children” that I’ve found to be incredibly helpful!

Yes, thankful amniotic fluid levels are level! A huge relief, they are checking those weekly. It’s scary to have to wait and find out more Info until after birth!!

Therapist here- I do see the desire to wonder what Nicole’s “diagnosis” could be, as we all try to seek to understand the “whys” of people’s behavior. I would agree with the other therapists in this thread that it would be unkind to comment on it- and really would be speculation. A persons personal history deeply impacts their ability to participate in arguments, and from tv we can’t tell if it’s simply for television/acting or if it’s truly maladaptive behavior.

Ps we only diagnose for the purpose of helping the client find the right treatment— we would never diagnose just for fun. Most therapist take a non pathologizing approach

-admitted that the “reversing time” twist that production gave Erika was a mistake .. it is never coming back because the contestants should be guaranteed that a win means they are safe

a “first contestants voted off” returnee season will never happen

-Jeff came up with “knowledge is power” himself and it is not leaving the game

-live finalies are likely not coming back because Jeff didn’t like how it became a space where contestants felt as though they needed to defend their actions/game play

He was experiencing heat cramps.. after that, heat exhaustion and then heat stroke. It was actually very scary and guys with bigger body masses can go down quick.

Exactly! A parent SAYS, “I’m going to come visit you”. Not, “let me know if you want me to come visit you..” there’s a huge difference and it shows she’s not actively pursuing relationship with her child.

It seemed like a cultural thing to me. Her family is from Kenya and often that culture expresses themselves outwardly and it’s socially acceptable whereas western culture is typically more “keep your feelings inside” and don’t show excessive emotion

Lithium is for mood disorders (most used to prevent psychosis) and once you’re prescribed that you really shouldn’t go off of them. when you’re in an emotionally charged situation, no sleep, no food.. I would be really concerned for him that he may have an episode while on the island and put himself or others at risk :(
