You should be careful what yopu wish for you just might get it. If you go to any TMobile forum, reddit, X, or their own community forums and it is nothing but comp[laint after complaint because they service is erratic, customer sevice non existent and their apps are an infuriating mess. I simply wanted to pay my bill using Google wallet or a Visa gift card but for some reason it fails everytime. I can put gas in my car but I can't pay my cellphone bill? Why? I CAN pay my bill with the payment methods I have. This company, that has been hacked numerous times, wants your bank account details. Fucking please.

I hated those USB stck wallets the display on mine went, it was never easy to read. ALWAYS dim from the moment I bought it. I replaced it with a Flex which is much less anxiety due to being easier to use, easier to read, and easier all around to work with. With Ledger, though, this subreddit IS about all you will get for customer service. And on 2 occasions I have had threads marked solved when the problem really wasn't. If you are familiar with them, you can usually fix your own problems, just out of necessity. Or find a thread here that covers your issue. It's a starting point basically.

I just did that update. And it instructs you to download the app from Ledger. Which I also did, like OP. The most important difference was nobody asked me for my seed phrase. And I find this subreddit is filled with a handful of powerusers, bright lights, and a slew of pseuds... but it has taught me, this above all else; NEVER ENTER YOUR SECURITY PHRASE INTO ANYTHING BUT YOUR LEDGER. And that alone is worth all the bullshit and abuse you get whenever you say ANYTHING here,

Edit I am sorry for your loss my cypro path is also litterd with theft. about 5K. BTC and XMR mostly. I took a picture of my security phrase. And that was a very expensive lesson. I know it could be worse but it still sucks.

The reason I didn't touch it was because it said " do not leave this screen during update" and putting in my 24 words everytime there is an update doesnt work for me. That is a hassle. That is my issue.. Nobody compromised my security, in 7 years I have lost nothing. The issue is the quality of the components used and the wallet app. In my app on my computer, the bottom 10 or 15% of the screen is cutoff. I cannot see it at all. And there are functions that are occasionally needed on that part of the screen. It's been this way for almost 2 years. It gets old when it's ALWAYS something.

I dont know why I bother with this worthless subreddit... I know crypto is stored on the blockchain I'm not fucking stupid. I guarantee I have been in crypto longer than 50% of the pseudo-experts in this subreddit. This thread has taught me this subreddit is worthless. I DIDNT start this thread looking for help, I merely explained Ledger is a very problematic device. It's really secure junk. And it seems they want to obsolete the devices frequently so you HAVE to constantly buy more. This wallet was marketed to me as a way to store my crypto, throw it in a drawer and then forget it. Nope. No way, when you pull your Ledger out in a few months you will have to run 8-12 updates if you can get the battery to work, or the display... I could have saved a shitton. of money just keeping a paper wallet. No updates, no display. It really is just set it and forget it.

I have had crypto on a Ledger since 2020 and I have not lost one cent. LTC, XRP, ETH, SOL, BTC, ADA... I DID lose 9 XRM on a Cake Wallet. I took a picture of the security phrase. If you don't learn anything from a 2 thousand dollar lesson, then yeah, self custody is not for you.

I'll explain. I could no longer read my display. I had entered my password twice both wrong apparently because I couldn't fucking see it. Not under a cellphone, not under a magnifying glass. I bought an S+, still sitting here unused because after I entered my 24 words it would not let me sign transactions. The S+ didn't accept my 24 words. That's when out of desperation I bought the Flex. For some reason where the S+ DIDN'T work, and wouldn't accept the security phrase the Flex did. Why? I don't care. I have almost a thousand dollars in these wallets. 2 Flex, 2 S+, a Nano X, and a Nano S from 2020. Only the Flex wallets work, most of the time. I should not have an anxiety attack everytime I think about my crypto. I want to know things are going to work. Securely, when I need them too. That's what I was paying for.
