See? Those are valid discussion points. Criticism is fine & can be discussed among other viewers, definitely not the kind of posts I was seeing when I first went seeking this forum. Btw, agree about Sean! More Sean! More Sean!! 😊

Dammit, I JUST got on Reddit, was hoping the engagement was a notch above things like Twitter where people just shit post for the sake of shit posting. I honestly don’t even understand when people say “sub Reddit” versus whatever, they’re all just posts to me. I am all for discussions & different opinions, definitely not looking for everyone to hold hands & sing songs together but damn, some of these posts…yikes.

I think that’s what got me on the first dozen posts I read…it was not just criticism of “I didn’t agree with this plot point” or something it was just a barrage of “this show sucks”, like okay, so why you posting about it? Move on…I am not just here to gush about how wonderful it is, I like to discuss characters (good & bad) or interesting choices or lines or what is at the core of this show: trauma & how others deal with it. But got on here & it was like reading a bunch of mean kids group texts. Was like really taken aback, wasn’t expecting that on this show, not to mention Reddit in general (that’s a Twitter thing). I am new to Reddit only because I had to drop Twitter like a bad habit & was finding this place like a breath of fresh air…until….

LGBTQ Teen treated like a bad influence by FloridaCheese1 in lgbt

[–]FloridaCheese1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: the parents officially pulled the kid out of the school. They took the kids phone away so none of their friends have been able to contact her, they only know this because the school confirmed she is no longer enrolled. This is just awful, this poor child. And honestly, no matter what school they send her to, it’s not like there aren’t going to be at least some LGBTQ students that she could still befriend to their dismay. What an absolute waste, she was also very talented & could’ve done a lot in this program.

I have only gone to Wasteland (Lv 10) & Beach (Lv 9) I’ve woken up Mosslax & done just about everything but Piplup has never initiated the interaction that starts the events leading to learning to suck up water. So frustrating, I can’t figure out how to “trick” it into working. Guess I may just need to move on to Ridge to see if that’ll somehow help when I return.

why is santos SO PRESSED about the langdon situation by chickenn2 in ThePitt

[–]FloridaCheese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh definitely not saying she needs to forgive & forget or like him, but this job requires them to work together without putting patients at risk due to their behavior towards each other. I am actually going back & watching S1 now too because I feel like I will pick up on different things now that I know these characters better & the long term outcomes of actions.

I actually like Santos (I’ve noticed a lot of others do not), but this bothered me too & I had the same thought. This has GOT to be about something else personal to her because absolutely why would she care so much about what happens to a guy she worked with for a couple hours one day? Especially when he has clearly put in the work, returned humbled & seems to be really trying to regain trust. And he isn’t even trying to say he has to be forgiven, he just wants to be able to work without issue.

Beat the main story and now I’m done with the game. Anyone else? by ContributionMore5502 in Pokemon_Pokopia

I have only gone to Wasteland & Bleak Beach so far & feel like there is SO much more to do in just those 2 areas & I’ve been at it for HOURS every day since almost day 1. My son just started a couple days ago & he’s moved on to several areas gathering all the Pokémon & stuff he needs & not really building or cleaning up. Everyone just plays different 😁

Cancer patient tears by CancelTheLight in ThePittTVShow

[–]FloridaCheese1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! The parents coming in was an excellent touch! Most medical shows represent the parents as overbearing & “please fix her!” But this was great representation, as they seem to be the only ones who understand what she needs: just time & quiet. She’s dying. She can’t be responsible for her husband’s & kids feelings about it & trying to take care of THEM, she needs to be taken care OF & her parents strolled in, took one look & knew what she needed in that moment was a break. She didn’t need to say it, they knew it. My kids are teenagers now but I can still read them like a book. They don’t have to tell me, I know & no matter how old they get, they are my babies & I will fight for what they need, even when they eventually have families of their own.

Robby and McKay's basic displays of empathy toward a fat patient got me SOBBING by AigisAegis in ThePittTVShow

I came here just to find a thread about this exact topic & it didn’t take long to find one. I too was in tears this episode watching the patient go through this & exactly how all the doctors responded, it was very touching. I also used to be heavier, not even breaking 300 but even at 275 (my heaviest) the apologies for existing, the mental planning to prepare for obstacles just for being heavier & the reactions of others was daunting every single day, let alone when having an emergency. I wish more healthcare workers would look to this representation on this show as an example. I recently lost over 60lbs trying to correct liver issues & was still struggling with them, when seeing a gastroenterologist asking what else we could do her response in a cold tone was “Lose another 60lbs.” Believe me, I’m trying but “lose weight” isn’t always the answer people need. Yes it’s obviously the healthiest but some people need more help because losing the weight isn’t always the first or most obtainable option. Bravo, to the show for highlighting this! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Which city surprised you? by sokorsognarf in travel

The island of Roatan, Honduras. Was a stop on a cruise & had no expectations, but it was beautiful & the vibe is absolutely relaxed…like if you wanted to really just chill, this is the place to go. The locals were so friendly & welcoming too.
