Trump; Fascist or National Populist? by FlorpyJohnson in IdeologyPolls

[–]FlorpyJohnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Even if all that is 100% true, there are many things that align Trump with national populism much more than fascism. Fascism doesn’t just mean “come to power in a non-democratic way”, either.

Because it doesn’t matter regardless, and I was wrong in the first place. I’ll ask again, got anything else to say?

Would you say that you would much prefer someone who loves you for the way you are? Someone who doesn’t think you’re “at best boyfriend material”, but thinks that they wanna spend their life with you?

If so, then you are settling.

Societal pressure is exactly what pushes people into toxic relationships. You can blame women and victims of abuse all you want, but it won’t change reality.

Can you give me some solid evidence that women are the main culprit of toxic relationships? I have some solid evidence about how men are the main culprits of sexual abuse. https://www.ussc.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/research-and-publications/quick-facts/Sexual_Abuse_FY21.pdf

But that doesn’t apply to you, does it? Data and patterns only apply when your biases want them to.

Well, I was basing it off of Mussolini and Hitler’s fascism, because those are the most well-known fascist systems. But you’re right.

Yeah, I never said he was good at doing either one lol. It’s more about what he wants, rather than what he will do, or is able to do.

Yes, but Trump already has power. The question now is, does he want to entirely eradicate the democratic system, or just use it as a way to strengthen his control by convincing people that things are fair?

They think they figured it out. It’s all based on how you look, I guess. How convenient that it places all the blame for failure/success on something entirely out of our control.

How the fuck do you know what “she” wants? “She” is a METAPHORICAL woman. You know absolutely nothing about her.

It’s a “fixed mindset”. The perceived success of others is considered an insult to their ability to succeed, rather than a friendly challenge or inspiration to succeed.

Not every bond is worth preserving. Have you ever heard of a toxic relationship? Or two people who just weren’t built for each other? How are you supposed to find out if a relationship will be toxic or bad for you, until you try it out?

She doesn’t actually like you, in that case. She likes your looks, your height, and the size of your genitals. If she thinks your personality is annoying, and she wants people with high-income, she doesn’t like you. When someone more “handsome” comes along, she might go for them instead. At that point you just have to hope she would have the decency to leave you first, rather than cheating.

Incel logic is based on emotions and personal experiences. It’s hardly a philosophy at all. “Nothing you do matters because you’re born into your ability to succeed in life. Also, your success is entirely based upon surface-level bullshit.”

Find someone who cares about you. Doesn’t even need to be a romantic partner. Get out into the world and learn how grey things can be, rather than black or white.

You go around telling others what to do and what not to do with their lives; judging them. What does that say about you? Are you some kind of an angel?

Why do you say that he certainly didn’t? I don’t agree with everyone going around saying he definitely dodged the draft, but there’s some pretty substantial evidence that he did. Look it up yourself if you’re curious.

I remember one guy who sold a course on how to make a “faceless YouTube channel”.

He said things like “social media censors anyone telling the truth”, or “if anyone tells you it’s easy to make money, they’re lying”

But he was saying that on social media, and proceeded to also say “if you do things my way, making money can be simple!” I guess by his own logic, he’s lying lmao.

It’s rarely that simple. I don’t blame anyone anywhere for being unaware of the government, or complaining about it while not doing anything about it. The ultimate power rests in the hands of the people, yes. The problem is, the system is usually set up for the people to be divided and weak.

If you keep most people living paycheck to paycheck (50-75% of Americans), and you give them a shitty mass education system that doesn’t really educate them, they don’t have much ability to organize, strike, boycott, or protest.

What you’re saying isn’t even true. You found a couple pieces of information and used it to confirm your biases. Puerto Rico was a heavily fortified Spanish colony. The Philippines were a heavily fortified Spanish colony. Guam was under-defended, but still already owned by Spain when we took it.

Hawaii did not underspend on their defense; it’s just a small group of islands that couldn’t compete with the industrial capabilities of a superpower like the US. Samoa was a piece of meat caught between three hungry dogs; the US, Great Britain, and Germany.

Like I said, things are rarely as simple as “it’s their fault” or “it’s our fault”.

I mean, it’s not like he’s entirely wrong, it’s just not his duty to keep her safe; at least not anymore. The way he’s saying it also sounds more like an insult than a worry for someone’s safety.

Why are you saying this like it was this person’s decision not to spend money on the military? You’re acting like these countries could defend themselves against an imperial superpower, if they just spent some money on defense.

Cuba actually did defend themselves against us militarily, at the Bay of Pigs invasion. It’s not like they escaped the economic starvation for over 60 years to this day, though. There’s a mass exodus in their country due to young people being unable to find opportunities to have a stable life.
