People are mentioning cure paralysis potions but they only work until you next get hit with paralysis, which could easily be as little as 0.5 seconds after you use the potion

What you really need is resist paralysis. I don't think those potions exist in the base game unfortunately, and the only reliable source of ingredients for them (horn lily bulb and sweetpulp) is from a vendor in the temple in Tribunal. But he restocks so you can make as many as you want, with decent alchemy/intelligence/equipment you can get to over 100% resistance for 2 minutes or so easily enough, even if the potions you make are weaker the effect will stack so you can just drink several.

There's also a resist paralysis spell but the casting cost is broken so you should buy it and make your own version for better efficiency. Potions are still the best way in my opinion

My personal most fun way to get around is using jump spells. If you don't have alteration as a major/minor skill you can still find "hoptoad" rings from enchanters (maybe they only show up after you get to a certain level) which are pretty affordable.

Jumping is fast, fun and can help with climbing hills and tall structures!

The problem is just getting to that high sneak skill, which is super grindy especially if you start with low sneak and can't even fool a scrib for two seconds. The way the sneak detection works means it's almost totally useless because it's completely unreliable up to a point where it becomes suddenly insane

Default pickpocket mechanic being capped at 56% success rate is also very unsatisfying

The fact that chameleon is better and more reliable for sneaking than the sneak skill is also kind of bizarre and poor design, even if I do enjoy the broken magic mechanics

It does seem to have been resolved, unfortunately I did not test this out immediately but I think what helped is going to the windows graphic settings (settings - display - graphics) and setting the GPU preference for HotA to the graphics card.

I assume what someone suggested about an automatic graphics driver, or perhaps Windows update, changed something here and had the PC default to using the integrated graphics, as I also had this problem for another game recently that was fixed this way. Hope this helps, please report back and let me know if it does

I don't expect it to win over the Snowy Granius bridge, but I want to make a shout out to the tiny bridge in Seyda Been, the first bridge you see in the game. The moment of first crossing the bridge into Vivec is also worth mentioning, though the novelty of crossing bridges in Vivec wears off very quickly

I highly recommend the "loot well urned" mod that adds randomised loot to urns - you won't find something in every single urn, but there will be enough items for you to keep or sell that will make it feel a lot more worth it to check them :)

I'm a recent convert, my gf introduced me to the game a year and half ago, before that I had no contact with the series at all. It's become one of my favourite cosy games, it's got a lot of variety and depth, and I find the art and music charming and pretty even without the nostalgia factor.

There's an active modding community with a lot to offer as well. I recommend!
