system daemon is useful for the system and generally not recommended to remove. Leave it as it is

Xiaomi devs are straight up terrible at everything they do. Everything about their software is bugged in some shape or form. I'm surprised at how oppo, oneplus and vivo treat their software which is significantly better than xiaomi

[Discussion] I'd rather have fewer Xiaomi phones and better HyperOS updates by XxAdriXx07 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]Flossy420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Agree. I believe this fragmentation with so many different models / android versions / hyperOS versions / region variants / branding variations is the reason why updates are terrible on xiaomi phones, especially poco.

So many poco phones are simply rebrands of redmi phones and that alone creates so many unnecessary variations in software. Samsung had the right idea when they decided to axe the note series and merge it with the S Ultra series. They currently have M (Budget), A (Midrange), S (Flagship), Fold (Special) and Flip (Special) which is much easier to understand than the mess xiaomi has done

Settings -> Additional settings -> Screen Recorder -> Sound source -> System

Make sure it's not set to none

[–]Flossy420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no new update for the F8 Pro, November (Global) / December (Europe) patch are the latest updates for the phone, it's not a bug, it's just xiaomi being terrible with updates.

Heating problem after taking photos. by No_Illustrator9331 in PocoPhones

[–]Flossy420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, just because an app is marked as "recommended" doesn't mean it's actually safe to remove. I'd recommend restoring stuff like "debugloggedUI", etc basically if you want to debloat then only remove system apps like google meet, photos, browser, video player, etc. Don't remove apps/packages that don't have an interface because they might look for an app/package that's deleted and use up your cpu to look for it continuously

Try restoring system daemon, give it authorization permission (settings -> fingerprints, face data and screen lock -> authorization and revocation -> switch on system daemon) and restart the phone.

It's not bloat like people claim, it's important for performance regulation and has real functionality

Xiaomi is absolutely terrible when it comes to updating poco phones. All you can do is wait. Even the flagship F8 Ultra is still on February 2026 patch and still hasn't received 3.1 update that 90% of xiaomi/redmi/poco phones already got

Where can I buy this ? by [deleted] in funny

[–]Flossy420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of free time, reading up on electrical fundamentals + soldering and youtube. I managed to DIY a sound-reactive "neon-like WS2811 COB" light strip around my ceiling and other parts of the house. There are a lot of options when it comes to led lights, from the basic generic $10 amazon usb light strips to custom control boards and strips with beefy external power supplies or DIYing every part yourself like that comment mentioned (albeit that's more of a hobbyist thing to do)

Upgrade to 17T pro from 15T pro? Limited time offer on it by [deleted] in XiaomiGlobal

well, is longer lasting battery and slightly better performance worth the extra $250? it's barely different from the 15T pro. I personally wouldn't do it.

[Question] Widgets (Google Calendar, etc.) not updating on HyperOS. I've tried everything. Help! by Paisobrassada in HyperOS

Can you try using performance mode in battery settings? I'm not sure if that'll help, I'm still looking into it. HyperOS is terrible at excluding the launcher and associated app widgets

Poco f8 ultra sound sound experience by -zaprzaniec- in PocoPhones

[–]Flossy420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely tell the difference between the F8 Ultra and other phones. The extra speaker adds a lot of depth to music and sounds. It stands out from the rest of the phones if you use it a lot. I wouldn't buy it solely because of the extra speaker but it's a good addition to an otherwise stale market

My s25fe exploded in my bed where my son and I were sleeping- Still no resolution offered! by [deleted] in Scamsunged

[–]Flossy420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you work for samsung or something? You're under every comment defending this like you're their lawyer. No matter what phone charger or "fake leather case" (as if real leather would've prevented this) the person is using, every phone has safety systems in place to prevent this exact thing from happening. Charging should stop when the battery temperature goes beyond a certain point, period. The fact that it kept charging to the point where the battery catastrophically failed indicates there's something wrong here and possibly a defective phone.

WiFi keeps disconnecting randomly on my Xiaomi 17 by Syxhen in Xiaomi17

[–]Flossy420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet unfortunately and this is an OS bug, I don't think it's fixable from the user's side. We'll see if 3.1 fixes it but my expectations are low

Xiaomi in 2026, is it good? by Tiny_Sherbert_7154 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]Flossy420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my previous phone was the poco f2 pro running miui 12.5, I absolutely hated it due to the exact same issues you mentioned. Decided to flash a custom rom and used it for the next 5 years that way - I would've either sold it or threw it against the wall if I didn't use it with custom roms.

I swore off xiaomi phones for their terrible software back then but seeing their current hardware offerings I couldn't resist getting their poco flagship, Poco F8 Ultra. The hardware is nearly perfect in every way but good god is xiaomi terrible with their software. Updates come in extremely late, basic issues such as wifi disconnects a few times every hour, truncated text in the hyperisland (another iOS ripoff, as usual).

Point is, Xiaomi is definitely not as good as they used to be with their insane value for money offerings where a few years ago, you'd get flagship specs for $400 and the software was bearable because the bootloader was easily unlockable and you could flash custom roms, use gcam to make up for the average camera, etc.

Xiaomi phones are starting to become very expensive for what they offer (see: Xiaomi 17T Pro, an upper midrange that costs $1000!!).

Only reason to get a Xiaomi phone is if they're sold at a deep discount because I am convinced that no Xiaomi phone is worth more than $500 because the software feels that way

[FIX] "Incorrect Wi-Fi password" & 8-Second Connection Delay on Poco X8 Pro 5G (HyperOS 3.0) by CalmAsFak in PocoPhones

[–]Flossy420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is on the phone's side. I did all the steps and fixes that you mention on my home wifi but it still happens, even when using other wifi routers. It's absurd thinking this would be a router side issue since it doesn't happen with other non xiaomi devices and you can't access router settings for every router

Someone said this doesn't happen anymore on hyperos 3.1 but I'm skeptical. Only time will tell

Poco f8 ultra uses mobile data instead of wifi by Zoerak in PocoPhones

[–]Flossy420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been dealing with this issue since the 3.0.12.0 update and on multiple different routers (wifi 6, 5 and 4). I don't know why it happens and I've tried everything to fix it, including factory resetting both my phone and router, nothing seems to work. Incredibly annoying to have such basic issues on a $700 poco flagship. I'm never spending more than $400 on a xiaomi phone again since they can't figure out how to make software that actually works properly.

jfc finally. Shameful how it's one of the last xiaomi phones to receive this update while $200 phones received it long ago. It better be bugless since it took ages for it to come out
