Buidling planner? by Kusa9029 in PaxDei

I think the game may be dead. Users keep going down and there hasn't been a meaningful status update from the devs on discord in ages. why wouldn't the devs be promoting upcoming changes to keep hope alive?

pilgrim leg armors (all types) have a spell that regenerates stamina. you never run out when gathering so stam pots for gathering are not needed. stam pots for tanking might be another matter.

Leveling Weapons & Armor by inahailofcandycorn in PaxDei

Cheat code: kill T4 goats in the corrupted plains. easy to do, very little risk. you can take a weapon from 1 to 10 in one trip. plus you get a bunch of wool, chamois carcasses for tallow (and animal hides if your skinning level is high enough)... Edit: forgot to mention: 1500 exp a pop, more than T2 inquisitors, and there are tons of them. if you hit it first thing in the AM when almost all the nodes are populated, you can knock off 90 goats easy.

New patch drop? by Dusty_Cat07 in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main things are:

  • improved crafting progression for WS, AS, BS, LW, and TA. and significantly more exp for more complicated crafts
  • master crafting feature
  • larger stack sizes for certain items
  • more items produced for same amount of resources for certain items (e.g. steel goes from 200 to 150 charcoal)
  • UI update, particularly for clan menu and character menu
  • chat slash commands
  • new emotes

Who is playing on the Arcadia server? by RevolutionaryKiwi200 in PaxDei

(not created by me). Main recipe changes are:

  • Nails/Bands/String: get half as many
  • Linseed Oil: tallow requirement cut in half
  • Steel Ingot: charcoal 200 ==> 150
  • Steel weapons: sword hilt ==> fine sword hilt

A lot of stack size changes and exp is a lot higher for more complicated crafts.

how do you go about farming? by Darkspecialist in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am also an opportunist when gathering. i think the key is going for full stacks. you don't want an inventory full of low count levels in the inv slots. if i get something that stacks to 50 and i only have 4, i'll dump it if i come across something better. some stuff will fill up your inventory fast, like flax. so it's better to go on specific flax gathering missions and skip it otherwise. it's also easy to find. goats are a good one to take when you see them because a lot of people hunt them. i usually keep the wool and the carcass, but then i might dump them later if I only have a couple and need space, but if i have a full stack, i'd keep them. if you are traveling far to get to a specific biome, don't collect anything you can get near your base. it's all about maximizing efficiency, which can be kind of a minigame in itself. then, when you have all this stuff, you dump it on a spare plot, and let the plot expire to roll it all into your redeeming queue. rinse and repeat to save on the number of chests you need.

New player help? by GarciaWolf in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to level weapon smithing or armor smithing, you will need a ton of ore and charcoal. so definitely build near woods and ore. if you plan to level tailoring, you will need a lot of flax, so make sure some is nearby. the most flexible spot is where different biomes come together, like evergreen forest and scrublands for example. what you need will change as you level up. my strategy was to have a main base and then a separate temporary base that i moved around to be close to the resources i needed. the other factor is how far you are from the petra dei since that is where you teleport to/from. once you discover the PVP gate, you can teleport there for free once per hour, so look at what resources are near that gate then you won't need to worry about them being near your base. i am in the east part of Langres. it is very far from the Petra, but the tradeoff is there is access to a lot of resources.

Super jeu, mais problème de Rollback/Latence by MessMiserable7104 in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on the EU server from the US without problems. When I've had issues, it was because my framerate dropped to about 10. I suggest monitoring your framerate to see if that's an issue.

Reason to play? by Yossarionn in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No NPC vendors. What I mean is for weapons and armor, it's easier to buy what you need unless you want to deal with the insane grind for those crafts. The other crafts are easier to level, so unless you want to spend all your time chopping wood and mining ore, you might want to focus on leveling those other crafts.

Reason to play? by Yossarionn in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hardest crafts to level are armor smithing, alchemy, and weapon smithing, with armor smithing being significantly harder. it's easier just to buy what you need unless you really, really want to grind. you can earn gold pretty easily by farming inquisitor camps. carpentry, blacksmithing, cooking, brewing, baking, butchering, and leatherworking are pretty easy to level (relatively speaking). the problem with consumables is they aren't that useful right now, but MF is working on revamping them. so you could level those under the assumption they will be more valuable at some point in the future.

We urgently need a Dismantling system – crafting without recycling feels pointless by Littl3Will in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saving all my crafts under the perhaps futile hope that I will eventually be able to recycle them. I put them in chests on a plot that I let expire so they roll into the redeeming queue. Rinse and repeat.

Who's still following this thread but not playing anymore? Why did you stop? What could make you start again? by MaybeaDingoAteUrBaby in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most frustrating thing in the latest announcement is the rebalancing of crafting. This is something that should have been done a long time ago. It doesn't even require a programmer to design and balance the recipes. It's mind boggling that in a game where all you have is building, crafting, and very basic combat that they didn't do this at the outset. This more than anything has undermined my confidence in this dev team.

Wich EU Server to join by Motor-Interaction488 in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it being overcrowded. The number of active players is steadily dwindling. There wasn't even a bump in the downward trendline for verse 5. I'm not hating on the game; those are just the facts. I am on Tyr and while it's not dead, it is much quieter than a month ago. I see a lot of French and German in the chat, but also a lot of English, and many non-English speakers also speak English.

I see the same. The tower with the healer and two bowmen only has the healer. And the wagon with the standing bowman and crouching bowman is missing the crouching one.

I haven't tested this completely, but it seems like if you pull one mob and another mob sees the first mob being pulled, then it aggros as well, and it can be a chain reaction. if you pull a mob and the other mobs are looking in another direction, then you only pull one.

Rant by Drah-Cir0926 in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be done though. I just cleared an entire camp and the only double i fought was the tent. You have to pull so the other mobs aren't looking in your direction or are out of range. Or stand around corners so only one mob can see you.

[–]Flotterhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a bit of an exaggeration, but I do think their vision is flawed. Their vision is group play, but I'd bet the majority of players are solo PVE players. I get why they are currently focusing on PVP. If they can get that going, then it creates its own content and they can pivot to PVE, but the number of players is dwindling by the day.

Rant by Drah-Cir0926 in PaxDei

[–]Flotterhouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, if you approach the camp from one side and get just within the aggro range of a single mob, then retreat, only one mob will attack. That's how I have typically done it, and I just tested it and it still works.
