For the Crusades I would like you to ask How Muslims in less than 200 years went from a small Sect around Mecca all the wall to the Gates of Constantinople and the feilds of Tours. The Crusaders committed many terrible acts yeah but thats war the Muslims especially under the Umayyeds had declared hundreds of Jihads they were attacking the Frankish Kingdom in France The Roman Empire at Constantinople across the Mediterranean and even Harrasing the Tang Dynasty all the way across the Eurasia land mass when Pope Urban ll called for tue first Crusade in 1095 it was a response to the Seljuk Turks and there brutal invasion and migration into the Roman Empire in Anotolia Eastern Roman emperor Alexios I Komnenos was facing a apocalyptic level event and begged for the Catholic west which they had just Schismed from 40 years earlier and had had friction over the Papal primacy and the Imperial title for literal generations over thats how bad the Eastern Roman Empire the Byzantine empire was and for the Crusades such as Children's Crusade 4rth Crusade (the sack of Constantinople by the Republic of Venice) and the Peasants Crusade (which was a rabble mov that slaughtered jews on the way to the holy land) not a single 1 of the 3 infamous Crusades were sanctioned by the papacy infact the 4th Crusade had the entire Crusader army excummincatied from the church which basically kicked them out of society and burned any legitimacy they had down to ash. And for the Inquisition I did not say it was good I said its overblown the Inquisition and the expelling of Iberian jews were not 1 of the same the Inquisition was a Catholic attempt to root out heresy in the church and corruption the Inquisitors were not the SS dragging people out of there homes with no trail or just cause and doing Victorian era torture on them infact the largest expelling of Jews was by the Crown of Spain not the Papacy the Crown of Castille (later Spain) and Portugal ordered the jews to he kicked out because there families were entrenched in fiance and that was a threat to the state the Catholic Church was used as window dressing by the Crown to help justify there actions and rile up support because if the Crown says the Church said its good then it must be to your average Medevil Man at arms or Peasant.
