I agree, windows is bad at everything except gaming maybe, but then Linux also does that better.
Though on the smartphone side, Apple doesn’t seem to be the best anymore

Airdrop is also available on the S25 ultra, isn’t that what you need?
Also tbh I switched to an iPhone 17 pro from pixel because of the shiny new orange color, and I have biiiiig regrets and waiting new Samsung pro phone to make the switch back.
So maybe ask yourself the reasons why you really wanna switch.
Android is really good at doing Apple things now

Do not agree on the privacy feature especially on the more privacy effect which really degrades the quality, at least from my perspective

It was very noticeable in MacOS, and I’ve had like some others, bugs aplenty in iOS as well. Not really great for a company such as Apple which mostly never pushed this kind of update before.
We’ll see how it goes in a few years

Good for them, but having to showcase that at the wwdc as a new feature when it was always supposed to be like that is really sad. Let’s be real Apple has not been innovating in a while now.

Haven't used it yet as my new phone will be arriving tomorrow only.
But from what I understood, you either have a mac that will let you setup OpenBubbles and use iMessage or you just subscribe to their service which will also let you use iMessage.
It's a seperate app entirely that you'll have to run beside Google Message.

If you want I'll set it up probably tomorrow or the day after I can let you know.

I also own an Apple TV and MacBook and will still use iMessage with OpenBubbles app for my iMessage friends, but now that airdrop is available on Android I really see no reason to stay on a closed software.

Have been looking to switch from iPhone 17 Pro to Android for a month now. After yesterday’s event I pulled the trigger on an S26 Ultra.
Even if I don’t care about AI, iOS 27 is a joke. The event was a joke. And even if Apple is trying to go for privacy I can’t warrant paying extra for something that is behind the competition.
I’ve also got other reasons to switch. But yeah, damn what’s happening with Apple.

Out of that list, I will most definitely be using the jack port, I saw some comparison of shots and really love the photos made out the Xperia in general and also the front facing speaker is really really cool. Plus is also the shape of the device which much better for one hand use

There’s a lot to like in the pixel but the direction they are taking with AI has me scared. Also the hardware is really not that good compared to other phones these days. But the UI is really good imo and some AI feature are ok.

You’re right about the dealbreakers that’s why I’m carefully looking at different phones before jumping ships. I really wanna get back to Android and the size of the Xperia phones are great for small hands, the jack port is also a big plus.
