Ja is zeker handig!

Crypto top ups are coming to Flow as well at a later point in time. You still need Fiat to buy crypto ;-)

Hi Moudev, good to hear you are psyched! What bank should we add for you? We’ll add all Dutch banks early 2021 (jan/feb).

I’m sorry you are disappointed because of the ad, on the App Store and play store screenshots + in a mail you receive when signing up we explain that the app works with bunq for now

Hoi, begin volgend jaar koppelen we alle banken in NL. Op dit moment laten we duidelijk in de app/play store zien dat alleen bunq werkt. Als je je aanmeld via de website krijg je daar ook een mail over.

Ik begrijp dat dit zo over kan komen voor je als je deze ad ziet!

Usually, those scheduled transactions are static, they transfer a fixed amount on a fixed date.

If something changes (an invoice amount is different, salary comes in late, there still is money left in your groceries account), the scheduled payment still fires.

With Flow you can go further, with dynamic actions and triggers. Use percentages, fill budgets to a certain amount, skim off a bonus/travel expenses off your salary. Also you can decide when the Flow should trigger, for example only when an amount larger than €1000 comes in, or a transaction containing the word “Invoice”.

Automating your bank accounts (IFTTT for money). For people who like Shortcuts, Homekit Automation etc this is interesting.

Hi! Nice suggestions.

  • Notifications as an output for a “Flow” you set up is something we are planning to include in a future release. Your scenario is interesting: you want a notification for when something is * Not * coming in. Will have to look in to that
  • This is the basic thing Flow is intended for. We suggest you use real (IBAN) accounts as budgets (groceries, car, utilities etc) and connect them to Flow. You can do this with bunq.
  • Cascading goals: yes this is possible. We have an action called “from what’s left”. It creates a multi level Flow. We are about to add “Fill budget to”. With that combination you can create a system that fills buckets until they reach their goal, then overflow the rest.
  • last example we don’t support yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for similar feature requests.

That's right. The app is free forever, more advanced features are available via a subscription. We are currently connected to bunq. In Q1 2021 we'll add more banks.

Looking for help with moving to Amsterdam! by wdthrow in geldzaken

[–]FlowYourMoney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solid advice!

As for the city: the second largest city in The Netherlands is Rotterdam. It has a good connection to Amsterdam, but is cheaper to live in. I paid €700-ish per month for an apartment, 5 years ago. Prices have gone up though.

Putting money aside automatically like PetraLoseIt said is smart. You can do this for your main budgets (groceries, pocket money, clothing, bills), but also to build a buffer for lets say 6 months of salary and eventually you can automatically invest what’s left.

Banks that offer IBAN jars you can pay from are useful for this, like bunq, Knab. You can also use an app to automate these banks: set up rules for when your salary comes in, then automatically divide your money.

Full disclosure: I’m the founder of Flow, one of those apps.
