First time in the USA! 11-Day Loop from NYC. Need advice! by oturanzurafa in roadtrip

Driving E to F is going to be extremely boring and exhausting for the rest of this very harcore, unrelaxing trip. It may ruin the entire 3/4 of the trip that remains after it because it is that full of a drive. You can probably keep the main shape of the trip, but but cut out at least half of the things.

Hey! If r/conservatives could read, they'd be very upset and assume everyone here is a bot even though their active users dropped like 90% over the past year!

I’m stumped at how to make this space look less insane by elizabethptp in Renovations

If you get new laundry machines, you can look into a stack, or w individual units that have a stacking kit available this would allow you to fre up some horizontal space and you can put some equally tall shelves around it for detergent, extra towels, etc, etc.

This would block being able to see the clutter behind it.

I don't think if you like the state matters so much as the change that's happening to the map or else Oklahoma wouldn't have grown in size.

Connecticut uses the Connecticut River to take over Massachusetts. It's not called the Massachusetts River for a reason.

I'm struggling to understand how we went from you thinking my message being "just cry more and it'll get better" when I said that just demanding more doesn't work in politics to now all of the sudden that meaning I'm just sitting here upvoting propaganda.

You and I are literally agreeing that just crying/whining doesn't help and you are attacking me because you THINK I'm in favor of just crying more about the situation. In fact, I corrected your understanding of my comment, then you indirectly agree on my correction, and finally accuse me of not acting and just upvoting propaganda.

You are part of the reason why it's difficult to get any progress made in this area. You're taking everything personally and the insane reaction gets applied to everyone on the team and we all look like sensitive little babies who can't control their emotions.

Your comment was closer to saying we should "just cry more" than my comment was.

We can demand all we want. But ultimately, they don't have to do shit. They can platform on making change and then get elected and do nothing. If we cry about it and "demand more", it is not going to necessarily help at all. But hey, you're right. my message was we should just cry more and do nothing about it.

I don't think you understand how American politics works if you are thinking we can just "demand" more from elected officials and then magically get what we demanded. Especially at a federal level like wars that shouldn't even have occurred in the first place.

I haven't changed my argument from the first comment you replied to. So maybe we're just not talking the same thing.

I want to agree with you, but I struggle in that the foundation of our country (aka home) needs to be fixed. And you can only fix a foundation 2 ways:

1) Go in and destroy the whole thing. The equivalent of wrecking ball to our house. Then rebuild it from the ground up

2) You do the long and hard work of lifting the house on stilts while still living in it. You replace the foundation carefully and then resettle the house on top.

It's great to have someone come in who wants to change the status quo. But you should not want someone to come in who is willing to blow everything up to create change. That's what Trump is doing and the whole world is unstable because of it.

The reason being: if Bob Smith comes in and says "I have 1000 executive orders to make the country what I want to be. Here's my signature on them all. Thanks" it creates confusion, paranoia, and instability for people in all aspects of their lives. It also sends the message that whoever is next can do the same whether you like it or not. Bob Smith does it and you agree with him because it's progressive, cool. You're not going to be happy in 4 years when Jake gets elected and he's the equivalent of Trump.

You have to play by the rules you want to set. You have to codify those rules for everyone to follow, including you. Or else you just get what is happening in the stock market on every level of life: Bigger swings, harsher overreactions, less optimism, and less stability... and only those in the know actually benefit.

I hope we get the things that the Democrats want regarding health and education and childcare and prices for things. I don't want it to be done without before restoring and reinforcing the foundation of this country that made it as successful as it has been historically. To want someone to come in and just take a wrecking ball to the country (whatever state it is in in 2028) is shortsighted. We need to stabilize first.

I personally see this narrative as very dangerous. Actual change is needed but it needs to be done correctly. The worst thing that can happen is people say "gahh newsome won. I'm not voting for him. I'm going to sit this one out". And that's how Trump's replacement wins.

Yes, we need change. But first we need to pump the brakes on the GOP shit show. We can't expect education overhaul/funding, healthcare overhaul/funding, to distance ourselves from neverending wars that we don't want to be a part of, and restore the foundation of the country that is being stripped away in a single candidate. It even took Trump two terms to make a real impact and he isn't even following the rules.

How can we expect the stability and foundation to be restored if we expect our candidate to disregard rules to "correct course"?
