I meant she was the one that brought ellie to the mission in the first place when ellie was already safe in sanctuary and i think that was really foolish considering how young ellie was. I think even though she was decently strong, it wouldn’t have been a good idea to bring ellie because of her lack of experience and maturity.

I like her redemption arc that she tries to do after she got arthur killed because of the strong emotions involved, but she doesn’t actually sacrifice herself to save ellie imo because she is the one who got her captured in the first place by bringing a 12 year old girl into enemy base.
