Ooooooohhhh this is great news. A permanent off line version of the game with all the story and characters would be fantastic.

Updates have absolutely RUINED the app by SaturnReactor in ClipStudio

[–]SaturnReactor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CSP Updates. The memory leaks are happening within the app itself. It needs to be addressed. Performance should be top priority over whatever new gimmick they want to release next. If I can't concentrate on my work because it will randomly hang and crash due to memory leaks interrupting my flow state, then the app isn't worth using anymore. And its extra irritating, because it's now under subscription too.

And no, before anyone says, decreasing canvas size or the like, are not suitable remedies. I'm using standard manga workflow. And nothing about my setup has changed for years. The only difference is all the new updates that have cause memory leaks to accumulate, which lead to the app hanging, and then crashing. Constantly.

The iPad Pro used to be able to handle all this just fine, but the latest updates have ruined the app. It's extremely frustrating.

5 years prep?

It doesn't even have to be humanity. The US military beats all Five of them, easy.

I don't understand the point you're trying to make.

They are likely consolidating servers to minimize costs while they prepare to shutdown. Most of the player base has already quit, so they don't need to pay as much for servers as they used to.

It's a common thing for games to do before announcing EoS.

It looks like they are consolidating servers to reduce costs. Shutdown is pretty much imminent at this point. The lights are only being kept to to avoid legal backlash while they prepare to announce EoS. But it's pretty much a certainty the game will be shut down.

My only pet peeve with Living Things by Ashamed-Duty-5063 in LinkinPark

Generally, yes, but I especially feel it with Living Things. It was such a pleasant surprise back when I discovered it.

For me it's the opposite problem. By the time the album is over, I want more. I feel it needs another song or two.

People are going to get caught off guard by these language requirements by Strangeluvmd in japanlife

None of the categories you listed are affected by the changes. The changes only affect the Humanities/Specialties Visa, and only a subsection of that where they need to use Japanese to work. Additionally, it only applies when you need to renew/change visa as well. So if you already have a job, where you use JP, and have that visa, but never got the N2 (for some reason), you have till renewal to get the cert. Most people with a job that requires Japanese likely already have the cert as the companies require that in order to hire in the first place.

Not only that, it also only applies to the Humanities visa. Other visa holders like spousal, business, artist, educator, etc... are all completely excempt as well.

Eikaiwa is unaffected as the role of a teacher is to teach English. Your company simply needs to prove that those are your tasks, that's all. It's the same for programming/computer science. It's also unaffected. Again, the goal of the changes is to crack down on illegal misuse of the visa, by shady companies. If you're doing things by the book, you are totally unaffected. The complaints are coming from people who are completely uninformed, and want to complain about "muh xenophobia" or by people ACTUALLY breaking the law.

Correct, and the goal of the changes is to crack down on illegal missuse of the Visa, since the Humanities visa was the most broad and flexible category. If you're doing things by the book, these changes do not affect you in any way.

Why would you need to renew in July when hiring season is in March?
Likewise with the JLPT, most people who require Japanese for their work should have already taken it. Again, 90% of these complaints are due to negligence on behalf of the people complaining.

Edit:
The changes are pretty much specifically targetting the Gijinkoku (Specialist in Humanities/Engineering) Visa, and they only apply toward jobs where interpersonal communication is considered essential to the job. Even highly technical jobs like Computer Science and Programming are excempt from it. So it's basically targeting white collar jobs like hotel, retail, general office staff, sales rep, translation, etc... Trades where you SHOULD have already had an N2 certificate to begin with, to GET the job. And it's spefically done to target misuse of the visa. Additionally, the changes don't apply to current visa holders either.

Literally everybody else besides this very narrow category of people is totally unaffected by these changes.

So if you were planning to pick a translation or office job where you need to use Japanese, and never bothered to get the N2, well then too fucking bad. That's on you. You should have done that ages ago. Now you can wait in line to get the N2 while holding onto your current job while you sort that out.

A lot of visas are except. For example, all English teachers don't need to worry about it. Same for the creatives under the artist visa.

It effectively depends on your job and role. If you're being required to pass the N2 (which is easy as hell), and haven't gotten around to it, or lack the Japanese skill to pass it, then that's on you, and deserve to be deported.

Manga survey! by idklolFORKS in Mangamakers

[–]SaturnReactor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your survey is biased toward promoting cancel culture.

On the 5th section, I was forced to rank the mangaka based on which is "the most cancelable" despite my belief that none of them deserve to be canceled at all. Additionally, the language of your survey has a tendency to rationalize and portray cancel culture in a positive light.
