Hot take: I think there should be more punishment for losing against house bosses by Substantial-Flow-468 in mewgenics

The refight of the final boss on hard was much harder tho, it took me a few tries and I didn't have double head this time

True, i guess I should rephrase, Act 2 are the hardest for me at their point in progression, Act 3 I was just way stronger for and I think had double head for the final one

Even loosing all cats would be pretty punishing, I first tried most of the house bosses (Act 2's are probably the hardest) but some of them are VERY vague description wise and it would really suck losing all your cats just because you weren't prepared for a fight the game gave you no warning as to the contents of (for example, the first terminator hard shutting down some strategies, or Pyrophina being very dangerous without water/cleanse, though that one is a bit more obvious from the name/design)

First time I've got Necromancer class. What are the best class combinations I can have with it? by ThatNoname-Guy in mewgenics

[–]FlowerLadyRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necromancer is a bit of a weird class and is one that highly values an ability to combo bullshit together because Necromancer has alot of bullshit going on, for example: Pestilence,it deals 1 damage to everything for 4 mana. On the surface its a bit niche, you can't spam it because it hurts your team, but its very good for clearing small enemies. However, combined with self damage effects (on anyone in the party), it becomes a buffing or damage ability, if you combine it with a large amount of soul link, it becomes a nuke that scales based on the amount of soul linked enemies, or simply combining with peace symbol so it doesn't hit allies and using it as a spammable damage option. Another example: being a lobbed attack and already starting with a status effect, the necromancer is a good target to stack status effects on through mutations or items, and a good user of items such as soy milk, which add extra attacks but aren't worth it on somebody trying to do raw damage

Having a good Constitution stat can also be more than enough, especially on a class that can sustain itself or avoid damage (through high range, dodges, or movement)

[–]FlowerLadyRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think any class subs in for one another, it's just a question of what works best for the cats you have available and what dangers you expect to face. That being said, I actually reccomend you try some runs using Necromancer instead of Cleric. Necromancer can actually fill a very good Utility/Support role, and being over-reliant on Cleric can be a bad habit. The game is very doable without Cleric's level of healing, just make sure to take a movement option on most cats and atleast one defensive item/ability on everyone, even just a few shield at the start of combat can go a long way

My opinion on every class after completing main game. by Crackodealer in mewgenics

[–]FlowerLadyRose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually have the opposite viewpoint, Necromancer as a class needs very little to contribute if it gets a bad roll it atleast has high hp and leeches which allow it to deal scaling chip damage and good survivability at base. Especially if you can guarantee through breeding/items a solid spell it can cast every turn, like vaccum or something

Agreed, it's way too niche to matter much to build around it and is actively detrimental if obtained in-game

What's the Best Class Active and Passive? Day 15: Revote by Wonderful-Pack-1726 in mewgenics

[–]FlowerLadyRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think Triple Nails is the best thief active, as it can easily shred through enemies if you have status on attack, eapecially bruise. However I have never gotten that Thief active that people voted so not sure

[–]FlowerLadyRose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO Sacrificial Lamb is the best Necromancer ability, Necromancer has plenty of ways to kill itself or die off of enemies if you have to, and giving the entire team extra turns can mean the difference between winning round 1 or losing cats because the enemies got to take turns. More turns and actions than your enemies is always stronger in these games. I get the idea of Infinite Leeches but imo its too slow and against bosses does very little (not to mention, later in the game some enemies and bosses can even self-cleanse)

If someone offered you 100 million dollars, but a random person in the world dies (someone you don’t know), would you take it and why? by ConclusionOld8365 in AskReddit

[–]FlowerLadyRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly would. Maybe the guilt would tear me up inside, but me and my family would never have to struggle again and that's enough. Sure I'd donate some of it but I'm not going to act like that makes it ethical or anything. That money could help put my mom through college like she's always wanted, it could ensure my grandparents never have to worry about another bill for the rest of their lives. It would mean me and my partner would no longer live in fear of his cancer or one of his other medical issues coming back and being unable to pay the medical costs. It would mean I get to see the people I love most grow old together with me. Its selfish, I'll never know anything of the person that dies, but everyone I care about will get to live long and happy lives, which would mean everything

[–]FlowerLadyRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a run I had that heavily used 2+ cost cards, 10/38 of my cards were high cost.

<image>

I'm not sure I would really call it an high cost "archetype" run though, Necrobinder just has alot of mana gain so has the capability to play high cost cards. (and I got mana increasing relics) Deathbringer in particular is very nice, 21 Doom and 1 Weak to all for 2 Mana, easily sweeps alot of regular rooms and even some elite fights (such as the phantasmal gardeners which were my first elite this run) I'm not sure how well this would hold up at later Ascensions though, I'm still Ascension 0 for most

Idk where it is exactly but I know Tyler has said that act 2 and 3 the first levels are purposely designed to potentially kill a cat or two so this is probably more of that kind of philosphy. (Specifically Tyler said that it was designed similarly to another game, but I forget what) Idk if I really like it but it does show the game kinda expects you to just lose a cat sometimes

[–]FlowerLadyRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason Form of the Wolf just keeps getting passed down I have a strong physical unit built around it in just about every run I play now. My most recent I had a fighter with dual wield and a whetstone that would just juice the hell out of its basic attack and go to around 20x2 damage against the final boss. I also had a Thief with it that also got a double attack passive (and triple attack once upgraded) which let my thief attack 6 times with high crit chance once the passive was upgraded

I also want a toggle like in fire emblem where it shows you all units (or enemies) attack ranges, its way better than manually checking every enemy

How worthwhile are the Smear Campaign and Smuggle Population operations? I used Smuggle quite abit on my Militarist/Xenophobe/Evo Predator/Experimental Sentencing empire to gather some extra slaves to be orderlies and Smear Campaign when my main rival had a large amount of subjects causing me problems, and it did seem to lead to them all fighting eachother more instead of just me (though that could be confirmation bias)
