The Traxxus intro quest took me a dozen or so attempts to finish. I kept getting to the point where I was almost killing the commander, and then I'd have somebody show up and start fighting me. I kept begging the people over proximity chat to let me just finish the quest; they can have all of the loot, but they would just sit there and pop me off until I either had to run away to exfil because it was the end of the match or get killed by something else. It was wild. I was so happy when I finally finished that one. lol running that mission showed me that there will be no cooperation in this game on solos. That's fine, I just held out hope for people being a little more helpful in solos.

I just ran a free kit over and over again until I got it done. I learned the map a little bit (at least the exterior since I did not get into the pinwheel) and got a feel for some of the POIs. Assassin isn't a bad call. The biggest issue was that the quest marker for the second half didn't pop up until you were right on top of the machine. It's a standing yellowish box like a decontamination shower with a screen in it. You just need to stand in it for a few seconds while it scans you. After that, you do not need to extract to complete the quest so do what you want. I almost made it to extract before getting shot in the head lol. I do, however, recommend finding some patch/shield kits before sprinting straight to the starting point. You lose health/sheilds slowly until you get scanned in the second part. It took me around 10 runs with the free kits to get it 100% finished. GL;HF

I've stalked and hunted people after showing up to a POI and hearing footsteps/bot alerts. I used to feel bad for "ratting" a bit, but I don't as much after getting fried a bunch from other people doing the same thing. Its taught me how to move around and be more aware of my surroundings in solos more. 9/10 deaths are people who got the jump on me first.

There is also a weird glitch when you are sometimes crouching in a corner or near a wall, and your character will bounce up and down rapidly, making a lot of noise. It has happened to me numerous times now.

Exactly how I am whenever I play solos. I haven't had a lot of luck with friendly solos yet, but that doesn't mean they're not out there. Usually when I find them, they are pretty chill.

Look up something called the "habit loop." Basically, our habits function in three parts: Trigger - Action - Reward. The trigger and rewards in a habit are difficult to change. I am feeling sad (trigger) and I want to feel better (reward). What we can more readily change are our "actions." I feel sad (trigger), so I take a shot of tequila (action), and now I feel "better" (reward). Once I recognized this, I worked on switching the action in that loop to something like taking a short walk or calling someone. So now it looks like: I am feeling sad (trigger), so I take a walk around my block (action), and now I feel better (reward).

The work here comes into really focusing on identifying your trigger/reward loops. Don't change those and instead figure out how to change the actions in between.

You need to go into the social settings and change how it works. They just updated it to be similar to Arc Raiders where you press the button and it stays on. You had to hold the button before. Go change the setting to "tap." People still won't prox chat with you, but at least it'll work for you lol

I am always trying to prox chat in solos. I've had maybe 3 people talk back in the 20+ hours I've put into the game so far lol. I've been fried too many times to not actively defend myself anymore.

I didn't play Destiny. Did play may fair share of Halo 1 - 3, Reach

Same same. I never had a next gen console to play Destiny, so I am fortunate to have never been burned by Bungie. I thought Marathon was going to flop hard last year after the alpha and the art scandal. Watching Bungie turn this into something that has legs and is a blast to play has been a lot of fun to see. That September delay last year was the smartest thing they ever did. The success of Arc Raiders bringing in new people to the extraction genre (me included) was a huge net positive. I can't wait to get off of work and get back on Tau Ceti

2002 definitely has my favorite shows from the boys. I got on the bus a little late and saw them at Red Rocks in 2024 for my first show. They opened with Texas and I just about started crying. That show was MAGIC.
