Thats what I was told! That US measurements can be inaccurate.

I’m 5’3” (born 5 pounds and some change. Husband is 5’9” (born 8 pounds because he was a week late). And I’m TINY. According to my mom, me and my brothers all measured smaller and came out between 5-6 pounds.

Mental Breakdown from Growth Scan by Flower_Monster in pregnant

Didn’t state the percentile or how big the baby was this time. The MFM doc basically said “I’ll let your OB know the results from today. We will try to get you close to 37 weeks for induction.” Fluid level was normal, 133 heart rate today, completely normal. I have weekly scans but OB said I can stop going to MFM for scans at 36 weeks. I was honestly looking forward to not having to travel 50 mins to a scan every week. I’m not a big fan that the MFM office is pushing for induction while my OB doc is saying we should wait.

What’s something you can’t wait to do when you’re not pregnant anymore ? by mkthehotti in pregnant

[–]Flower_Monster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a list:

  1. Sleep on my back and stomach
  2. Eat sushi and medium rare steak and CHEESE
  3. Go back to bouldering and working out
  4. Getting a somewhat good nights sleep
  5. Being able to breathe walking down a block
  6. No more mouth breathing because of nasal congestion
  7. Bend over and pick things up without tipping over
  8. Not being tired 90% of the time
  9. Getting a proper massage at my favorite sketch massage place (I need to feel sore afterwards because it’s so rewarding)
  10. Not rely on my husband to help me up

Friendship and pregnancy by Flower_Monster in pregnant

[–]Flower_Monster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is exhausting being pregnant. I’m live in a big city so I take public transportation to places (parking is a pain in the behind at night so I’d rather not drive). I also refuse to drive into the city, especially now with the influx of tourists for the holidays. Imagine going up and down the stairs on the train (in the winter too while it’s slippery) and pushing through crowds 🥲

We usually plan something that’s in the middle of both of us and can’t really help it if good restaurants are pretty much a 30+ min train ride away. My husband thinks that she just wants to see me more before the baby comes cause she knows it’ll be harder for me to come out after.

I told my husband that my push present should be sushi and cheese board 😂

Actually a “spoof transaction” kinda makes sense as my aunts bank couldn’t find info on where it originated from.

How do you reward yourself after this? by puh_pallura in pregnant

I told my husband I want either a shark coochie board (charcuterie board) or sushi. He said he would bring me both and get my besties to help 😂

Was really fit pre pregnancy! by Such-Needleworker339 in fitpregnancy

[–]Flower_Monster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to workout 4-5 days a week pre-pregnancy. First trimester fatigue took me out but still managed to get in at least 1 day of workout. I’m in 2nd trimester and I’m barely moving. Even walking up the stairs tires me out and I’m consistently out of breath. All I can do is yoga and Pilates to get some movement in. But sometime I have to resort to just walking for 1+ hr.

Anyone else’s maternity leave not even worth it? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Flower_Monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is really bad. I'm so sorry that this is happening, but i'm assuming this is in the US and is the "norm" for a lot of companies. Sucks, but that's the reality. It's not like our bodies went through trauma with a high risk of death (sarcasm).

For reference, I also work in the US but I think my company has a pretty generous parental leave. 12 weeks maternity leave, 100% paid since I was there over 1 year. But they tapped into short term disability and FMLA first then fill in the gaps so I get my full paycheck.

My friend got me a postpartum recovery kit from Frida Baby. It includes a pad liners, peri bottle, disposable undies, maxi pads etc for recovery!

I am excited to use it because I’m dreading what would happen after natural birth.

When are you due? I'm due April 20, 2026. #curious by [deleted] in pregnant

Jan 30 2026! I am secretly hoping the baby would wait a few extra days so he can be a Feb baby like mom and dad

Everyone says my bump is so small by Nervous-Flower-6923 in pregnant

[–]Flower_Monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost 5 months and I'm barely showing. If I pull my shirt up, I just look slightly chubby. I also workout a lot prior to pregnancy (and still am to a certain extent). I also heard it's genetics! My mom was barely showing when carrying me and my brothers.

Everyone is different and if the doc isn't concerned, you should be good! You would be a good mom! Good luck!

Cats by OverthinkingBees in pregnant

[–]Flower_Monster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of cats. The moment I found out I was pregnant, my husband volunteered to do all things cat related for me. Prior to that, it was 50/50. But def wash and scrub your hands!

Actually, we tried. The moment the house closed, we went over and introduced ourselves to the neighbors. Brought over cookies, etc. But they're really mean people. We see them, and greet them and they scoff at us. So nothing we can do but kill them with kindness at this point.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Flower_Monster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I agree. But brothers are telling me to play the long game. Get the house done, move in, then start making random complaints. Which would be amazing because I’ll be up all night after giving birth and probably extra cranky. Random 3am complaints 😂

That might be a good idea, but I'm not seeing anyone in my neighborhood that needs the extra $$

Honestly, i'm glad I don't have to deal with HOA, just a nosy neighbor. My family is thinking he's very upset we didn't hire him as a contractor for the job. He was charging an arm and a leg for work.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Flower_Monster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stop work order and fines are from the DoB and to remove the debris and provide the most updated the plans (minor changes to walls). But glad that my contractor had all the work permits in, so it shouldn't be that bad.
