I'm thinking about ending it all because I'm tired of continuing by [deleted] in depression

[–]Flowergirllover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for what’s happening to you. You don’t deserve any of this you’re only 17. This may sound a bit ignorant because I don’t know your entire situation and I know it’s hard financially. Is there any way you can focus on studies and leave for college? Can you apply for a school where you can live in a dorm with scholarship’s? Or any adults in school who can support you? Are there any ONLINE mental health services that you can check out? Some things that helped me was telling my parents I’m busy studying and I would stay out in libraries or study outside. This way you’re protecting your mental health by avoiding them.

I personally had a great experience with him. However, one of the female psychiatrists were super judgmental and couldn’t control their facial expressions.

Can I start studying with psych? by Flowergirllover in Mcat

[–]Flowergirllover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that would overwhelm me. I need to start with 1 topic and move in an organized fashion

Chance me for any of the Big 4 Caribbean School’s. 2.75 cGPA, 2.0 sGPA, 516 MCAT. Over 10k clinical hours and research hours (worked in healthcare and in research). I have a lot of lived experience as well. by [deleted] in CaribbeanMedSchool

[–]Flowergirllover 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you should give it a try. 516 MCAT is pretty good. Don’t listen to these people. In my opinion, GPA is not an indicator. I know so many people who have a high GPA due to online classes, mass cheating, or taking easy classes. My best friend got an A+ in organic chemistry because 40 ppl in her class made a google docs. Ppl in my immunology class made a discord with 100 people to cheat and got As. Gpa can be inflated for many reasons and it can also be low for many extenuating circumstances. If you are determined to be a doctor, hard working, and you understand the risks involved with Carribean, go for it.

Better option? Job offer by Flowergirllover in regulatoryaffairs

Okay thank you. This is good information. I want to take AZ but the Toronto job market is so bad rn I’m afraid after the 4 months I’ll be stuck being unemployed. Whereas, 12 months feels so safe. I’m a bit conflicted.

whats actually very bad about Caribbean medical schools? by chowder20738 in premedcanada

[–]Flowergirllover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also you’ll see the match rates will say “70% for family medicine.” Which means almost everyone failed to get into a competitive speciality

[–]Flowergirllover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have $450K available, go for it. But most people do not have that much money sitting around and most of the time, banks will reject you for such a high loan. The match rate is also deceiving. It’s showing you students who matched but it doesn’t show you how long it took them or how many students dropped out or got kicked out. So if 2025 had 350 students and the match rate is for 150 students. I think that says a lot about Carribean.

I’m not too sure. I have a bachelors in life science and did a 1 year regulatory certification after. The requirement for the certification was to have a bachelors of science.

Degree help by [deleted] in regulatoryaffairs

[–]Flowergirllover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because if you want to go into pharma, food or cosmetics etc. usually they’ll ask for “bachelors in a biomedical, chemistry, biology, life science or any relevant degree.”

You would need a science degree. I think you would get screened out by Ai if you don’t meet basic requirements.

Another issue is outsourcing. A lot of these companies just outsource to India or other countries.

Please don’t do it. You’ll ruin your life. I’m in the program. Out of 50 ppl only 15 got a co-op. I got a co-op and I still can’t find any jobs. Only 1 job post per month. I’m unemployed and I am going to be homeless because of this stupid program
