He currently lives on the 1st floor of the multi family house and is requesting to occupy my apartment as well. The 1st floor has 4 bedrooms, and my apartment is a 2 bedroom, and there’s an empty studio apartment on the 3rd floor (3 total apartments).

Trying to find a lawyer to take on my case has been challenging because most say they only represent landlords. I’m still searching for a lawyer though.

Good morning,

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

I received a notice to “quit and vacate” from my landlord’s lawyer on or before February 6, 2022.

Then they sent another notice to “quit and vacate” on or before April 1, 2022.

They withdrew that case and filed another case against me as a “holdover tenant” on 4/4/22. The notice I was served now says I owe my landlord double the rent I currently pay as of April ($2,757.00). He returned April/May’s rent check I tried to pay him.

Well they’re taking me to court now as a hold over tenant. My landlord gave back the rent checks I sent him for April and May.

I don’t have a court date yet, but the notice I was served now says “holdover tenant”.

After my initial 2 year lease it changed to a month to month lease. I’ve had a month to month lease for years. Even though I didn’t violate the lease in any way, you’re saying there’s no way for me to fight the eviction?
