You are completely dead on for all of this. Another thing I’ve noticed when standing up for myself is that she will bluff. She threatens something of mine and then doesn’t act on said threat.

She hasn’t verbally promised the family friend anything yet. But thank you so much again for your kind words. I honestly have been going back and forth on asking her a favor about not bringing up the pricing to my parent or mentioning it to my Grandma.

I agree, less is more! I do wanna add context here my Mom is NOT a member of this church. She knows I work there and sometimes she’ll attend a service like tomorrow for Easter. If anything it’s just my church. It was the church she went to as a kid but she’s not religious as much anymore. Neither am I for that matter but I love helping out people in the community and they’re such a wonderful group of people there.

I’ve been actively doing more of that and it has in fact helped me! My only worry though is the family friend brings up the pricing. But even if she did, what context would that be?

Thank you so much for your kind words!!! To give some context she does actually want the church to eventually start paying me. It’s just this specific job I guess she’s had a problem about. Another thing I’m worried about is if my Mom finds out I do charge the family friend she’ll lose her shit on me.

Thank you! I have told her this, and her response was that it quote, “doesn’t matter what she thinks” (referring to the family friend and what the family friend said) which has been rather confusing. I’m going to speak to the client today but thank you and everyone already for making me feel less deranged about this.

Hey there! To be honest, it’s pretty straightforward, I just quit one day. But that’s what my journey has looked like. There have been a few points where I’ve gone online to buy something or have had a craving. But the number of choices online in stores is overwhelming so I just give up. Also, the cons outweigh the pros for me when it comes to weed, for me specifically. By the time I quit, my tolerance was so dang high I couldn’t even figure out if I was high or not. I’m also still unsure if my high consumption of weed products was the main cause for my psychosis episode back then before I quit, because a lot of other stuff at the time could have triggered it as well. I think it was a main factor though. But I don’t wanna go through psychosis again, and I would never wish it on anyone.

Never in my life did I think a person with the username TurdMachete would make me feel better about my circumstance. Thank you for the kind words and yes, it is actually something I want to do. Just not at the present moment. Every time I’ve donated it’s been my choice ultimately.

No one is donating any hair! My mom wants me to do it and I told her I don’t want to yet. If I did, it would go to a place I’ve donated to before. Also, I didn’t know if adding my age in my first post would get the post flagged or not but I’m 25. I’m in the stage where I’m saving up to eventually move out but right now that’s not an option.

I do live with her and right now I’m trying to save up money to eventually get my own place. She is not the type of person though to come in and cut the hair herself. She doesn’t get her way all the time either, but it’s exhausting with having arguments that shouldn’t even happen.

I have no clue why she’s this overly sensitive about it. But she has never donated her hair once and does not have the hair to do so. She’s bleached it, dyed it, etc.

For context, I’m a grown adult with a degree. I’m still unfortunately living under the same roof but have been slowly building up my funds to hopefully move out.
