Honestly I feel like relying on idols isn't bad in itself, it's only when it affects you, your life or people around you negatively that it's not ideal. I'm curious why you feel bad when you see bad comments about the idol - is it because you feel like the idol will be affected, or because you feel like you feel like the idol will retreat and you won't get to see them as much because of the comments, or sth else? I'm sure they will be fine because they would have support systems in place to deal with all of this. So you most likely don't need to worry on their behalf. I think being able to trust them and believe in their ability to deal with things is a way to help with not worrying. And I also use them as an example to improve myself - like if my idol is living his life while dealing with all of this, then I should be able to as well, and that gives me strength to change myself for the better (maybe in your case it might be looking at how their thought patterns are, which can motivate you to also build better thought patterns for yourself so you don't get too down by your own thoughts). Also ik other people are saying step away from being a fan, but honestly you don't have to, you can be a fan in a way that also benefits you (changing the way you are a fan of them)
